Be aware of being tricked by the service person I wish there were a choice of Zero star for the service department. I normally do not write any web review, but today I feel I have to do it. We own H I wish there were a choice of Zero star for the service department. I normally do not write any web review, but today I feel I have to do it. We own Honda cars for more than 10 years. Most of our services were done at Jim Coleman Honda. We do not drive our Honda car often any more and had not been visiting the service department for a while. Today, I had my car towed to the service dept to replace the old dead battery after returning from a long trip. The service person told me they need to do a diagnostic test first at a cost of $125.99 before changing my battery and the fee will be waived if I choose to fix it.. Before I signed the form, I specifically asked if I only change my battery whether the fee will be waived. The service person said yes, so I signed the form. They showed me their diagnostic results and there are a few items need to be replaced beside battery, including changing alternator at a cost of more than $800. I know my alternator was replaced a few years ago in another Honda service center and I only ran 10k miles since then. An average alternator should last 80k miles, I want to talk to the other dealer first before I decide to replace it if necessary. So I only requested to change the battery today, then I was told that I have to pay the $125 diagnostic fee on top if I do not change the alternator. I regret that I did not record my conversation with the service person at the beginning. The manager was also very rude. I totally lost my trust to this place where I used for many years. More
