Sean, I took your comment in earnest and reached back to you the same day. I have still not heard back the following day (business day). I offered to purchase the vehicle again in my message (even after all of that) and the dealership still has not responded. I thought it was poor business practice to charge more for the vehicle than the advertised price, but there is actually a rule about it. See below - listed on the Illinois Automobile Dealers Association website. Section 475.310 Advertised Price It is an unfair or deceptive act to advertise the total price of a motor vehicle without including in the advertised price all costs to the purchaser at the time of sale , or which are necessary or usual prior to delivery of such vehicle to the purchaser, including any costs of delivery, dealer preparation and any other charges of any nature; provided, however, taxes, license and title fees and a documentary service fee, as defined herein, may be excluded from the advertised price if clearly disclosed in the advertisement that these costs are excluded from the advertised price. Purchasers shall be able to purchase all vehicles described by the advertisement at the advertised price.

Yes you’re absolutely right our cars get sold whatever the advertise price is we do have a couple packages we recommend to all the customers and they optional if you would like to proceed with the purchase please let me know I will have the General manager call you to proceed with the deal

You may want to inform your sales associates that those items are optional, as i was repeatedly and expressly told that they were not optional and could not be removed. I sent a message to the general manager yesterday that i would still purchase the car (including my contact info). I have still not heard back. Please advise.

Update - they did offer to waive the fee that is legally required to be optional. They unfortunately didnt decide to do that until they had sold the vehicle out from under me (which meant they wouldnt have to honor that in practice). The GM explained the fees in a completely different way than the sales associate, which turned out to be very preditory, but at least he was honest about it.
