WOW! On 1/14/12, I dropped off my vehicle at Jerry Ulm in Tampa due to a leak in my Power Steering System. $397.55 dollars later, it was fixed. On 1/26/12, my check engine; light came on and would not go off. I thought this could be related to the service I received 12 days prior. I returned to the dealership and Carlos Batista scheduled me for service the next morning. As I was signing to agree to an $80 inspection, he asked me what I did for a living. I am certain that he was fishing for a reason to charge me more money. When he called me with an estimate of this service, the charges came to $325.34. I consider this to be excessive price gauging as I was charged over $700 on a 7-year old vehicle that has less than 55,000 miles on the engine. This bad experience with Carlos Batista in the Jerry Ulm Service Department has convinced me to steer clear of this dealership. More
(Backgound) This entire visit and subsequent sale(s) began on February 9th 2012 on the internet and via email. My wife and I had been talking about trading my truck in because of the high mileage and it began on February 9th 2012 on the internet and via email. My wife and I had been talking about trading my truck in because of the high mileage and its' consumption of gas on a weekly basis. I emailed back and forth with Bob Potter at Jerry Ulm's in Tampa and in his last email he invited me to visit the site and have an appraisal done on my vehicle. I happened to be in the area on Saturday 2/11 and stopped in so they could see my truck and give it a fair appraisal. Bob was not in, he was off for the weekend (unusual as that may seem for sales guys). The folks that were present picked up the ball for Bob and took good care of me. The internet consultant (sorry I forgot his name) made a notation that I'd been talking to Bob Potter then got everything started by intorducing me to John Wieland. I got a fair appraisal value and a great deal on a new Jeep Liberty. I had shown up late on Saturday so I had to return Sunday for a detail on my vehicle and some last minute instructions on the vehicle. (Sidebar) When I got home Saturday night I went over the numbers and savings on the new vehicle. I took my wife and daughter for a spin and they fell in love with the vehicle. The next day when I returned to get my vehicle cleaned up, I took my wife and daughter along (with her vehicle - of course). John Wieland was at the door waiting for me and I offered him the opportunity to work on a deal for my wife. I'd already given some busines to Bob and I thought it appropriate to give John my wifes business because he had been very competent, efficient and amiable during my visit. (Rest of the Story) We made our introductions and I stepped out of the way and left the rest to John. I made sure to tell your internet sales co-worker that I was giving this business to John. The entire process for my wife comfortable, efficient and very pleasant. On both occasions John Wieland, John Chaiponne and your new car sales manager George Roldan were attentive, informative and ready to help. I expressed my gratitude to your Sales Manager Gordie Begley and Georege Roldan upon completing our business. But it did not stop there - John Wieland made sure the cars were clean and filled the tanks on both vehicles as well. While at the gas station he took the time to show my wife and daughter how to work with the navigation system and extra perks so they could know what to do with new system (I didn't get those in my vehicle JOHN :-)). On both days we were treated fairly and competently by the staff at Jerry Ulm's. We walked out the door saving hundreds of dollars from our previous payments, with years of worry free driving ahead of us and feeling that these were good fair people who understood and met our needs. My wife and I want everyone to know that the folks at the Jerry Ulm Dealership on the corner of Dale Mabry and Spruce ST. in Tampa Florida are the best we've had the opportunity to work with in the 20 plus years we've been living in Tampa. In case you're wondering who we've done business with in the past; Ferman, Kia in Brandon and Veterans Ford - they will never see us again! We got the feeling over the past two days, that at Jerry Ulm Dodge Chryler Jeep - that's the type of treatment my wife and I will get anytime we walk in the door! Thanks to all of you. No more--I'm going to drive to St Pete or Clearwater next time. We have been here for 1.5 hrs. I had an appt, but that apparently means nothing. after 1 hr, the service guy said they were just getting to time. We have been here for 1.5 hrs. Last time I was here, on a work day, they promised me a ride to my house, 20 min away, no reservations necessary. It took 1.5 hrs and getting back was even worse. This kind of disrespect for customers and our time is simply not acceptable. More

We came back to THIS dealership because we were successful in the past buying 3 cars at THIS dealership. We live an hour and a half away so I tried a "local" dealership. The sales team were so unorganized and not very helpful at all. So, we go into our truck and made the trip to Jerry Ulm Dodge. Upon arrival we met Ivan Rivera and within 5 minutes we knew we were at the right place. We closed our sale with the help of Jorge which was wonderful in his presentation of the deal and went directly into financing with Felix Ramirez and what a happy experience we had. Hats off to this dealership for maintaining the excellence in customer service after all this time. Truly a great experience for us. Darren let up a time for me to come into the dealership to see other models they offered. I was a little sceptical (I came to hear music and socialize). There was never any pressure from anyone that I encountered (John in finance). I now own a NEW Jeep Compass and have Darren and Jerry Ulm Dodge to thank for making it happen!
