Trust nothing these sales people say or do. They lied twice and cost me approximately $8,000.00 I always knew that you could not trust a car salesman, but Jerry Seiner Buick GMC of South Jor They lied twice and cost me approximately $8,000.00 I always knew that you could not trust a car salesman, but Jerry Seiner Buick GMC of South Jordan really made me take pause and ask whether there is ANYTHING you can trust when speaking with these salesmen and sales managers. This dealership outright misrepresented the capability of the truck they sold me, explaining that it was capable of towing 13,300lbs when I later came to learn that it only towed 7,800lbs. While shopping trucks last month, I found myself looking at a 2023 GMC 3500 with Broc, the salesman at Jerry Seiner. While testing that truck, and describing to Broc my need of towing a camping trailer that weighs 10,500lbs, the 3500 seemed like an obvious choice. The drawback was its size. It would not fit in my garage and barely even fit on my driveway. I explained to Broc that dilemma and decided to keep looking. I found a specific 2024 Toyota Tundra that I put on order, which has the capability of towing capability of 11,200lbs, plenty for my needs, but quite a bit less than the 3500. I sat with Broc with his manager Jesse listening over our shoulder for about 45 minutes discussing my dilemma about liking the towing capacity of the 3500, but the size of the Tundra. There is absolutely no way they did not know at this point that I needed towing capability of 10,500lbs. After this discussion is when I learned of the 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 3 L Duramax Diesel. A quick search online described this 1500 as being able to tow up to 13,300lbs. I contacted Broc at Jerry Seiner and asked him about whether they had any of these 1500 with that kind of capability. After looking through their inventory, Broc invited me to come look at one they had in stock, a 2024 GMC 1500 AT4 with the 3 L diesel. This truck seemed to have it all. After driving it for several hours and looking at it side-by-side with the Tundra, having the belief that it would out-tow the Tundra, we decided to buy the GMC through Jerry Seiner. Four days later as I was reading up and learning more about the systems of my new truck, I learned about the GVWR and GCWR figures and how they interact to give you an exact towing ability of the truck. After running those numbers, I learned that the truck Jerry Seiner sold me actually only had the towing capability of 7,800lbs. I went immediately to Jerry Seiner and spoke with Jesse, the sales manager who was listening over when Broc and I were discussing the trucks. He explained that Broc would never intentionally misrepresent the vehicles and that I should not worry because Jerry Seiner would stand behind its sale. He even went so far as to explain that once he takes these circumstances to his higher-up managers, that they could even unwind the transaction. Three days later, I met with Jesse again. Jerry Seiner had decided instead of standing behind their sale, they could only "trade-in" the brand new AT4 and sell me a lower-end model that had the max-towing package. When I asked Jesse about his prior statement of standing behind the sale and unwinding the transaction, he accused me of stating to Broc, another manager and to Jesse that I told them I only needed to tow 7,000lbs. So, not only did they lie about the truck they sold me, Jerry Seiner colluded to cover themselves to save their precious sale at the expense of a customer who completely and reasonably relied on them to the detriment of about $8,000.00, the cost of trading the GMC into Toyota for the model that had the capability all along, the Tundra i-Force Max. This place doesn’t deserve even one star. Their service department is so dishonest. A couple years ago I noticed the wear on my tires were uneven, so a friend told me to chalk my tires to Their service department is so dishonest. A couple years ago I noticed the wear on my tires were uneven, so a friend told me to chalk my tires to see if they were rotating them during oil service. Man was I mad to see the chalk marks in the same place. They hadn’t rotated them and thought they’d scam me. Then a few months later it happened again. My 2017 Encore also has had to have 3 batteries within 5 years. That’s not normal. But my recent issues take the cake. 3 weeks ago I had an oil change for a trip to Vegas. I wanted my tires and brakes inspected to make sure we’d be safe. At the end I spoke with serviceman and he told me the tires and brakes were fine. I was glad to hear that and told him I’d be traveling. I asked for a printout of my vehicle history so I could see what’s been done and figure out when I’d need new brakes and tires, etc. I was told “I’d have a while before needing those items fixed.” I was given a piece of paper showing I needed to check for an oil leak and fix a torn boot. There was nothing else on the list. I was shocked when a mechanic at a gas station 5 hours away saw my tires and told me that the safety indicators were bad on all four tires. 😡 I was shocked. I explained I’d just been at the dealership and they told me tires were fine. He then explained they had lied or not inspected the tires. He also warned me that my tires were pretty dangerous. How the xxxx does any mechanic at Buick feel okay about not telling a customer that’s just told you “they’re going on a trip and want to make sure everything is okay” decide not to inspect tires? How did they miss something easy to see if you know what to look for? This morning I went to two tire stores and a mechanic friend and all of them told me that Buick had been dishonest and there’s no way they inspected my tires. They also believe on my last visit the tire wear was showing as “needing to be replaced”. I went looking through my car history and found a discrepancy in two other oil change dates, 5 months apart. On one they report 5/32 and months later it showed 6/32. That’s impossible because treads don’t go up with use. It’s clear they don’t inspect tires well. I called today to talk with service manager who’s not bothered to call me back. Buick has issues with integrity. I spoke with GM today to file an ethics complaint and even they were concerned with my tire issues. At this point I’ll have to make this a legal issue for fraudulent inspections on cars. My tire warranty is 60K. The last visit all I was told that needed attention was CV joints and an oil leak. I did both those repairs and chose to replace my brakes too. I take care of my car and keep it in great shape. (I used a different place for repairs because the prices they gave me were high.) Sadly, Buick sucks. They make crappy cars more and more. They put drivers in dangerous situations because they skip inspections. Don’t buy Buick unless you want problems and terrible service. More
