They were supposed to rotate my tires. If you accidentally find yourself at this dealership, run back to your car at get as far away as possible as quickly as possible. Then the service department is the worst there is. $189 diagnostic fee to tell my girlfriend her handle didn't work, by trying to use the handle once and that was it, and said it would be another $800 to fix it. 60,000 mile service was $1,500. I could not believe this had happened. I drove down there immediately, and they could not have cared less. I can't believe the difference between them and every other dealer I have been to. I just hope this helps at least one person avoid the nightmare of working with them. More
They sold the vehicle I had placed a deposit on then told me I did not. I showed up in person to show a manager the transaction but it was too late. They will never return calls/emails/voicemails/messages and most recently their service dept returned my vehicle with glue/adhesive on 3 of the body panels/ There's more, but I'm sick of writing this novel about how bad they are. More
My car had a check engine light turn on, so I decided to start looking at new cars. We went around to all the dealerships to look at options to think about for the new car. I had seen a rio on KSL and wan start looking at new cars. We went around to all the dealerships to look at options to think about for the new car. I had seen a rio on KSL and wanted to potentially see it in person. While I wasn’t able to see it on the lot I did find the Seltos. Which I thought was super cute. We decided to add it to the list of options, but keep looking. So we went around to some other dealerships to explore other car options, but ended up coming back. We went inside to ask for a test drive, and ended up meeting with Tyler. We took the car around, and I really did like it. But I told Tyler that I was going to think about it, but go home and do some research. He was totally accepting of that fact. I went home. And did all my research of the cars. I ended up really loving the Seltos. Tyler didn’t follow up with me for a few days. Which I appreciated, since several other dealers texted me even 10 minutes after leaving asking when I was coming back. But I wanted to go look at what colors/ package levels were coming in. They didn’t have any extras on the lot, but were upfront about that. I put a $500 non refundable deposit on the seltos I wanted. And was told to expect it in two months. Not a worry tho. I got the color I wanted over one that would be here sooner. I got a text in the next two weeks that the timeline got updated! And that it would be here a month sooner than expected. I got my financing started and ready for it to come. But then the next week it ended up here! Much sooner than I expected. We went to the dealer and started paperwork. And it was pretty quick and easy. But at one point I realized the paperwork wasn’t the color I had originally ordered. I brought this to Tyler’s attention, and he pulled the car out of the inspection it undergoing so I could look at it in person. It wasn’t that far off. Just a lighter shade of gray than I had initially wanted. I gave the go ahead for it. I believe it was just a misunderstanding when I had put my deposit down. And that he misheard that I wanted the darker over the lighter gray. But he spoke with the manager, and I did get an extra year of free maintenance for the error. We went to the financing desk. And this is the only spot I felt was a bit uncomfortable. We worked with Erik. And he was pushing the extra warranty and protection packages. But I wasn’t wanting to pay an extra $5000 or so to add on the extra warranty to the car. Especially when the factory warranty is already good. We made it out of the finance office. And signed on the car, which ended up being 2k less than I initially expected. The inspection was still finishing up, so we went home for a bit. Tyler let me know when it was ready, and then helped me set up the app and connect it to the car, and went over the basics on the buttons. I took it home that day and love the car!!! One last complaint, I was pre approved through my credit union, but have limited credit, as this is my first auto loan. So the credit union had to approve it a certain way. Not a big deal and I knew about it ahead of time. But when I got the call from Kia about how I had one more finance thing to finish up( which I figured was going to happen), Erik let me know that he had actually had another credit union give me a loan offer so he didn’t have to work around the special way mine was put together. But the interest rate was higher, so it didn’t matter. I didn’t appreciate that at all, especially since I now have an extra hard check on my credit. But I’m the end, it was a low pressure dealer, and very fast and easy ( out of the dealership in less than 3 hours). And I would recommend them to anyone looking for a Kia. Although I did have a couple issues they took care of it. And I know if I had gone with a car from any other dealer I had looked at, it would have been a worse experience. More
If I could give this Service Department a negative star I would. They never return a call, are not nice when you are there getting you car serviced. Do not take car of you car while it is there. Not even sure if they actually changed my oil while I was there or if I just paid for nothing. Do not take you car here you would be better off doing it yourself and the owner and managers don’t care about the service you get here either, I’ve tried talking to them about the service department also. I found a Telluride and asked the sales person if it was available. The order was in fact cancelled by the people that placed it. I put a $500 non-refundable deposit down. Was told I HAD TO get financing through Kia and I had to pay for a $2K protection package(leather treatment, PPF, and tint). I requested upgdd ceramic window tint. I called on Friday to see if vehicle was ready and was told by the manager that some of the items had been completed and he would call me back with an update. He never called me back. The following Saturday I called around noon and a sales person said they couldn't find my vehicle and that they needed to look for it. Called again later and got the same response from another sales person. Called again later in the day and a manager told me that they sold my vehicle and that I did not have a deposit on the vehicle. I had to prove to them that they had my deposit. NO ONE TOOK RESPONSIBILITY!! They treated me as if I was lucky they found another vehicle to replace the one I was waiting for when in fact the replacement was not a match. When I went to pick up the replacement, it had a dent in the hood, scratches, and they had placed the dealership sticker on it, removed that(I requested it NOT be applied). The adhesive was left behind. They asked that I leave it at the dealership a week later to have it repaired. Received a call that it was ready and when I showed up the dent looked worse and the adhesive was still on the car. Was then told that I had to schedule repairs at their collision center who pounded a dent in the hood and filled it. I can still see the remanence. Tried to get some sort of compensation for all the issues and time involved for me to repair something that wasn't my fault. The GM did nothing and played a game of "What do you want?", rather than making any offers. Also, the finance manager offered a ridiculous APR and when I finally sat down to sign for the vehicle, he magically found a lower rate as long as I agreed to pay for an extended warranty. The financing was with a local credit union and NOT Kia. Find a different Kia dealership who cares about their customers and their sales people(there was a lot of finger pointing and they threw my sales person under a bus and blamed him even though he was out with COVID when they sold my Telluride...pretty classy). More
Ordered May 2021 at MSRP, came in Aug 2022. Received nasty email from Derek Roy w/MANATORY and NON-NEGOTIABLE add-ons and financing. Wanted us to keep high financing for 6+ months. Took Kia loan at over 7% interest. Refused to let me finance elsewhere at lower 2% rate. Paid off car on day 4. They got no extra money. Terrible communication before email. Would NOT recommend this dealership. More
By far the worst car buying experience I’ve ever had in my 40 years of buying cars. Friendliness and customer service super sub par, zero follow up and write out lies from the management. The Kia service centers of the greater SLC area are horrible. I have dealt with numerous ones with similar issues and never with resolve. They come back with inept answers of “ we can’t diagnose the pr horrible. I have dealt with numerous ones with similar issues and never with resolve. They come back with inept answers of “ we can’t diagnose the problem with out first replicating it , well isn’t what “ diagnostics “ stands for ? I mean what horrible service on their cars . I will never by a Kia brand car again ! EVER ! More
