POTENTIAL VICTIMS OF JENKINS, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST. It had been 10 years since I last had to work with a car dealer and I dreaded the experience. So, I went to their on-line sales site thinking I could vo had been 10 years since I last had to work with a car dealer and I dreaded the experience. So, I went to their on-line sales site thinking I could void having to deal with a sales staff. I found what appeared to be a great deal and made an appointment with the internet sales manager to come look at the car. As soon as you walk in the door, everyone in the building is there to greet you and then it all goes south. I had an appointment with the sales manager but was handed off to a very nice young man, but not the person with whom I had made the appointment. After the text drive and listening to all the sales pitches for about an hour, the salesman came out of the "managers" office with a piece of paper folded and asked "are you ready for your price" thinking I was about to be blown away with positive news. Instead, the folded piece of paper had a paragraph circled which was the "small print" in the on-line add and he informed me that I had not read the small print. He said the price quoted in the add was only good if I purchased a $4500 Jenkins Value Package. So, what they do is discount the price in their add but then add that discount back into the price by saying you have to buy this add on in order to get their advertised price. The sales manager then played all kinds of numbers games until we were so tired and out of time (4 hours later) that we just signed papers in order to get out of there. Once home and it sunk in what had happened to us, I made an appointment with the General Manager and he did an outstanding job of showing me exactly how were deceived. Of course he didn't see what happened as deception but make no mistake about it. This dealership (and probably most auto dealers) is deceptive. I don't know where you can buy a new car and not be exposed to these kinds of deceptive trade practices but rest assured that if you try to do business with Jenkins, you will be deceived. Ronnie took really good care of us yesterday when we were at the dealership for a L-O-F and tire rotation. They got us in and out very quickly. Our Salesperson, Yokasta, was wonderful. She walked us through the process with ease. Was confident in her knowledge and took care of everything! Thank you! The only let down was the add-ons to the price listed. It was a little shock to see the car we thought was one price, jump a couple of thousand. If I could leave ZERO stars I would. This was by far our worst experience in car buying history. My 21 year old son decided that he wanted to trade in his car and get a new one on his own. I browsed online at the inventory and found the perfect car that he was looking for. I submitted the $250 coupon and the next day, Laurie Woodyard contacted me. She said that if we could come in they will give us a $25 gift card just for coming in and taking a test drive. Due to our work schedules, we weren't able to go in until Wednesday afternoon. I had been texting and talking to her all week concerning the vehicle, let her know what his price point was and where he needed to be on a monthly payment...she assured me that her manager said that they would have no problem getting him to that price point. I texted her when I left work early Wednesday afternoon to let her know that we were on our way...she immediately texted back that she would see us soon. Fast forward 30 minutes later...we arrive at the dealership and ask for her, all of a sudden she isn't there, so they put us with a salesman named Larry. He goes into the system under my phone number and says that he can not see anything about a trade (this had been discussed with Laurie multiple times)...he goes to the sales office and comes out with the sales manager, Jason who tells us that unfortunately they just sold the car and that the people were in the finance off doing the paperwork now. I then asked why Laurie didn't tell me since I had spoken to her less then an hour ago and again, he could not give me an explanation and again said Laurie was not in the building. I then asked about the Honda Civic that Laurie said that would be in our price point, then again, Jason tells me that unfortunately they do not have anything in his price point, but that he would keep a look out for us (no thanks with all the lies this far). I told him that Laurie had told us we would get a $25 gift card for coming in, he rudely says that he will get it sent to me. I text Laurie the next day and ask her why we were lied to, then she informed me that the car had been sold by their neighboring dealership that morning (again, why waste our time if you knew that before we came down there...BTW as of this review, the car is still showing available on their website). She said that she would get the gift card emailed me to right away, here it is Sunday and I have nothing! Debra from customer relations called me and left a message to please call her concerning our experience. I called her back, left a message and of course have not rec'd any call back. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time. We found a much better deal, a nicer car with less mileage and amazing customer service at AutoMax in Ocala. This place is a joke and is all about getting you in the door so they can try to rip you off. Unfortunately, this dealership gives all the Jenkins dealerships a bad reputation. Fortunately for my son, his first car buying experience turned from a disaster to a positive experience...no thanks to Laurie, Larry or Jason! More
