Between Antonio Carranza and Johnny Mathis (sales management) and Alex Parks (sales dept), we left happy and are excited to get our new Kia Soul next week. Extremely professional, pleasant, and knowledgeable. This will be our third Kia Soul and the personable no-pressure approach is one of the top reasons we keep coming back. More
Update to previous review: I’ve contacted Kia and Kia Financial and explained to them what had happened to me. Kia Financial is sending me a copy of my deal via US Mail, and I explained and asked how I was given copies of both the sales agreement/bill of sale with nowhere on each showing my initials or signatures. They said that apparently I signed them, so I’ll wait and see. October 18th, 2022, I went to a local Kia dealer and showed them both driver side outer window sill strips, to find out that they WERE INFACT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY (it’s nice when you’re lied to). It’s been a week, my registration is still showing as “pending dealer transaction.” My trade in registration is still showing as “active.” Already my trade in is listed on autotrader, and the dealership’s website for sale. I called my previous finance company and they have yet to receive the payoff. Kia Financial assures me the deal is done, I called Kia of Gainesville to get an update on the cancellation form, only to be given another number with an extension to call to get that information to which I left a message for callback. This is NOT how hoped things would start out, but if I could do it over…. I’d have bought the car through a Jenkins dealer in Jacksonville. More
We went to Jenkins KIA after stopping by several used dealers on the same road. We didn’t think we would get approved. Where do I begin. I contacted this dealer about a particular vehicle on their website. I originally was emailing back and forth with Chris Flowers about everything, wh I contacted this dealer about a particular vehicle on their website. I originally was emailing back and forth with Chris Flowers about everything, which was going smooth. I informed him of my current vehicle and was told he’d speak to another manager about getting me “top dollar” for my trade. He mentioned that when I made the trip, (which was this past Friday), to ask for either himself, or someone named Gina. When I arrived, immediately I walked up to the vehicle and began to look it over. Chris walked out with a salesperson, and tells me I’m in good hands. After gathering my info and the such, the “top dollar” I wound up getting for my trade was basically what I owed on the car. Upon going into the finance office, I was shown the usual GAP, a maintenance plan, and extended warranty, (all of which we know are optional). I DECLINED ALL THREE ITEMS, and all were scribbled through prior to the finance office. By this time I finally met Gina, and reiterated that I didn’t want the items, she asked if I had money down, to which I said no. (Overall, I just wanted the car as it was with the remaining warranty left). After getting into finance, I’m told lender, interest rate, and so on. Surprisingly, I’m also told that the car has a warranty, 3 yrs of free oil changes, and a 12/12 warranty. Immediately I asked several times if it was included in the price I was paying, (since it was certified, I figured these were perks that came with it) to which I was told yes. Well, they definitely weren’t and were definitely added into the price of the car, obviously I wasn’t GIVEN THE OPTION to want it or not. When I received the car, it looked cleaned up, (yes it was washed/cleaned, but that was it). The engine compartment was absolutely filthy, (looked like it was partially sitting under a tree for a few days), there was still dirt in the interior. Basically they washed, waxed, vacuumed, did a quick wipe down, shined the tires and that was it. I ended up having to go back because finance mysteriously FORGOT to include the BILL OF SALE paperwork (now I know why) and the FINANCE LONG FORM that explains your terms, payments and the such. Also, I canceled all warranties because those two were a $4k option I wasn’t given a choice of wanting or not. After these issues, the sales person was great, but other than that, this was sub par. Things I liked: 1) salesperson. 2) never felt rushed or hurried throughout process with salesperson. 3) the car I left with. HERE ARE THE THINGS I DIDN’T LIKE: 1) The fact that I DECLINED warranties, yet a maintenance plan and extended warranty were added in regardless. 2) Finance forgot the BILL OF SALE, and most importantly the LONG FORM (funny thing is I never signed either one, I was just given copies of them, AFTER HAVING TO DRIVE BACK TO GET THEM and CANCEL THE CONTRACTS) 3) The half xxx detail that was done to the car, (I had to basically clean the car MYSELF when I got home). 4) Before signing anything, I pointed out 2 items that needed repair and was told “I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THEM” and the cost/labor would’ve been added to the price of the car…..WTH!!! 5) If it truly was a “certified” it xxxx sure didn’t look like one.
