huh? From first visit to driving out with a new car, the experience of doing business at Jenkins Hyundai Ocala was the most satisfying car buying adventure From first visit to driving out with a new car, the experience of doing business at Jenkins Hyundai Ocala was the most satisfying car buying adventure I've ever had. The showroom was pristine, the amenities were comfortable and refreshing and all the staff were pleasant, helpful and professional. Kyle Lambert displayed such a professional, friendly and knowledgeable demeanor that my wife and I found renewed hope for today's generation. He is truly an asset for Jenkins and they should make every effort to hold on to him and not let him get away. Thanks also for the professionalism of Jim Green and Juan Del Arco. When new car time comes around again, we'll be back ESPECIALLY if Kyle is still there. Thanks guys, Mr.& Mrs. J J Grady More

Bullies I have bought many cars in my life, and each time travelled to many dealers to shop around. I have never had an experience as bad as the one I had buy I have bought many cars in my life, and each time travelled to many dealers to shop around. I have never had an experience as bad as the one I had buying a used car from Jenkins Hyundai of Ocala. First, the good, which isn't much. Let's see...One salesman was ok. His name was Jeff. Um, what else... They have a huge nice facility (although it does make you wonder how they pay for all of that... which I found out later). And it's so slow that you have the place to yourself--word must have gotten around about their customer service. We were there for probably 7 hours total on consecutive weekends and only saw one other customer. That's all I got on the positive front. First visit our first salesman (James) demoed the car we wanted after making us wait for 30 minutes while they tried to find the keys (really?!). We sat down to negotiate, he came down 800 bucks on price from the grossly inflated advertised price ($4000 above Edmund's TMV for that car with that mileage). I made a counteroffer that was $1500 above the TMV, and the sales manager-type came and barked at me "that is the price, take or leave it.That price will never change. I will sell this car in a few days." Didn't get his name, but we left it, mostly due to the rude manner he spoke to us. My wife and I were shocked--is it ok to bully customers? And a few hours later, their advertised price on the internet shot up $1000. Good luck with that. We waited a week, there was no follow up email, call, or anything from James. Felt kind of unprofessional but whatever. I emailed him, asking if there had been any change in their counteroffer. This time James said they would knock $400 more off the price and split all the "dealer fees" with us 50/50 (they have high fees, btw). I asked him for the final price including all fees except tax, tags, and title. He gave it to me, I emailed back and verified it again. All set. The next day, we were coming to buy the car, but he wasn't returning any of our messages. Odd. We show up at the dealer and "James isn't here, but you can work with Jeff." Ok... We go to check on the car, and there are two 3 in diameter spots on the back trunk lid where they had ripped the Shriner medallions off and took the paint with them. We point this out and the salesman says it is their fault and they will fix it or give a price concession for me to fix it. Get back inside, and a different bully/sales manager (Juan) comes and says that they have no record of any deal so they can't offer the number we agreed on, plus they will only agree to touching up the spots on the back with touch-up paint. I have to show him the emails, but he doesn't believe me, and goes back calls the first salesman, who I guess partially backs away from the deal (must have gotten threatened/yelled at). The result is they won't cover their half of the dealership fees. They also will only give $76 price concession because of the paint that was ripped off. I asked if they will still touch it up at least. He tells me NO, it's either $76 or a touch-up, not both, and I should leave if I don't like it (same mean tone as the other manager). I tell him I am shocked that he would alienate a customer like this over $76. He says literally "What do you want, a hug?" Exhausted, we just give up and move forward to see the F&I guy, hoping that in the end the numbers will still add up to the deal we had in writing. We are made to wait 45 minutes even though the place is empty. I finally just go into his office where he is sitting. All goes well, he is much more professional than the managers (his name is Sean) and after signing 20 things we get to the final page which summarizes the whole deal. And of course it is higher than the written deal we made. Not only did they put the full $700 dealer fee back, but they have added a new $150 "filing fee" on top of it. When I ask to have the fee removed, that the subtotal doesn't match what we agreed on, Sean calls in the MEANEST BIGGEST BULLY/JERK I HAVE EVER MET into the room who tells me "that's what you have to pay or you can leave. We are losing money on this deal." (NOTE: That is a complete lie--at another dealership, they showed me what that model in the same condition/mileage costs at the auction, it was $2750 less than I was paying Jenkins). I did not get this guy's name because I just wanted his belligerent attitude to go far away. They weren't even done with me then - when they brought the car to me, there was only one key and "you will just have to buy another one, the papers are already signed." I wish I could go back in time and tell my earlier self to never set foot in this place. You shouldn't either. I would tell you to "get it in writing", but they don't even honor that. There is no honor among thieves. (P.S. - Be careful when you are talking to your partner when the salesman walks away-they had the mic/speaker phone on listening to us.) More
