Poor Customer Service On August 15th I was caught in a flash flood while driving and my engine seized and needed to be replaced. I had the car towed to the Hyundai dealersh On August 15th I was caught in a flash flood while driving and my engine seized and needed to be replaced. I had the car towed to the Hyundai dealership close to me because I believed they would be the most trustworthy and I would receive the best customer service given that my car was just over a year old and my family has purchases or leased 5 Hyundai’s over the past several years. This assumption very quickly proved to be false. It is now September 28 and I still don’t have a car. Good luck getting a straight answer from anyone you speak to, if you can even get a phone call or email returned. One day I was told that due to the terms of my lease I would require a brand-new engine, several weeks later I was told that no, a re-manufactured engine was fine and would meet the lease terms no problem. Then I was told the re-manufactured engines were readily available and they were ordering it for me that very day because they just got approval from my insurance company and they would be expediting shipping, only to be told the following week by the service guy that he personally ordered the re-manufactured engine a long time ago and was on back order and that was why it wasn’t yet finished. My insurance claims adjuster couldn't even figure out the story and said that he wouldn't recommend this dealership to any of his customers. No matter who you speak to, you will get a completely different story. The only conclusion I can come to is that they are either extremely disorganized and lack communication, or someone is not being truthful and trying to cover up a mistake. Neither option is a good one. The final nail in the coffin was when they refused to provide a loaner car given that it is now going on 6 weeks, my insurance rental benefits have expired, and I am now incurring rental costs that will not be reimbursed. In fact, I was told by the service manager not to worry because my insurance company would cover additional days over my policy terms (I’ve spoken to the insurance company, and no, they don’t do this.) Not only have they lost the confidence and business of a family of 5 Hyundai cars, but they now have a disgruntled customer. Please do not underestimate quality customer service. More

Great Service It's quite unnerving when your car has issues while you are on vacation. We are from the Fort Mill, SC area just outside Charlotte, NC and were traveling to Amelia Island for vacation with family. Halfway to Florida the air conditioner went out on my 2007 Hyundai Sonata. We continued in the 96 degree heat to meet our family and were totally drained by the time we reached Amelia Island. First thing Monday morning we began the search for the closest Hyundai dealer to our area. I called Jenkins and made an appointment for early Tuesday morning (the earlier the better so we did not have to travel in the heat)! We arrived and were greeted by Ronnie Taylor and the customer service started. He offered their shuttle service but I explained we were from out of town so I asked about an enclosed mall in the area so we did not have to sit at the dealership for 3+ hours. Ronnie arranged for Martin to take us to a mall while we waited. Martin also gave us superb service and was very personable and friendly as he shuttled us back and forth during the day. Jenkins did not have the part we needed so we were given a loaner car to get us back the the vacation rental. Ronnie called when the car was finished and arranged for us to pick my car up. When we arrived we again were treated in a professional and friendly manner. I am so glad I found Jenkins Hyundai as they were able to take a nightmare situation and make it a pleasant experience. If I lived in the area you would have my business, but since I live in SC I am giving you the highest 5 star rating! More

Within a few days I was invited by the manager to come in to discuss it. Mr. Chris Layton bent over more than backwards to make all right with me . He fixed everything, then went on to get it even better. I left there very happy and completely satisfied. I have already shared this experience with many of my friends, family and even strangers. I have dealt with four other Hyundai dealers in Jax as this is our fifth Hyundai and will never go anywhere except Jenkins. I plan to shop nowhere else with what’s left of my time on earth and will guide all I know to do the same. Also, my original salesman, Mr. Jones, was very professional.
