Gerald was very friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with in my decision to purchase a vehicle. I continued to experience this service with Keith during financing. What can sometimes be a difficult and time consuming decision became an exciting and memorable experience at Superior Kia. More
Jason was so helpful, answered my questions and didn't "talk down" to me as some other car dealer sales persons had done as if I didn't understand. He helped me find the vehicle that was right for me after I described what I was looking for, he was very knowledgable and helped me make a great fit. He also helped me become familiar with my new car's features and made sure I was comfortable before I left the dealership. I would absolutely recommend Jason and Superior Kia! More
It's been some time since I purchased a new car. But, when my mother, who lives 50 miles away from the dealership, decided to purchase a new car she wanted me to "help" her with the process. I knew that when my mother, who lives 50 miles away from the dealership, decided to purchase a new car she wanted me to "help" her with the process. I knew that I needed to work with someone that I could trust. I chose Superior Kia. And, I chose sales representative Gerald Greene. And, I'm very glad that I did. Gerald was excellent. His product knowledge and friendliness let me know that I had chosen the right place. Gerald took a great deal of time with my mother. And, he didn't make either of us feel as though he was "doing us a favor". He seemed to take the position that he wanted to EARN our business. And, that, I will remember. Superior Kia is Superior. But, Gerald Greene is the BEST! Hats off to Superior Kia. It was a wonderful buying experience because of Gerald Greene! Henry Long More
Well, my wife and I went to Superior Kia on Monday April 16 2012. We had seen a 2011 Kia Forte that had all of the things we needed in a second car. Test drove that car and a 2012 Kia Rio. We liked the Fort 16 2012. We had seen a 2011 Kia Forte that had all of the things we needed in a second car. Test drove that car and a 2012 Kia Rio. We liked the Forte. Talked with Cat who was nice. Then, she brought some other guy (not sure his name--had a blue Superior shirt on) who we assumed was "the closer", pushing us to buy. We asked if a rear assist camera could be put on and he said yes and they would throw that in if we bought today. We told them we had not done any research and wanted to do that and talk about the car and we might be back. We did that and popped into the dealer the next day. That's when it took a bad turn. Cat was not there and we ended up with Gerald. Ready to work a deal. Did our homework. Long story short, here were our issues: --He was not knowledgeable about the car's pricing (he did not know there was an internet price already $1000 lower than the sticker price--Today the internet price reflects the sticker price...hmmmmm) --Not knowledgeable about financing. He did not know about the Kia Finance special (on the internet price and finance special, we brought in copies from their website) --As we talked financing, he questioned our numbers, which we figured out on the http://Kia.com website. He then said they are sometimes wrong. HUH? --Somewhat attempting to be condecending and rude as the process went on because we were not moving away from our price --The "process" we went through with him was not very functional. We did our homework, figured what we believed the car was worth and stuck to that price There were more items, but you get the point. We just said if they would not sell us the car, we would wait on a veloster we are waiting on at Columbia Hyundai ( That's another issue). But after he came back from the back again, they gave us a price that was still about a $1200 delta. But, they were so generous to offer they could provided an added $430 off IF we did not take the Certified Pre-Owned Warrenty. My wife went ballistic and we were ready to move on. Then, he brings Gary Reed, the Manager out. Who gives us a xxxx-and-bull story about they would not make money, etc. There were so many lies and unethical things in these discussions I felt like a shower was in order. First, the original salesperson told us the car had been there for 3 days. On the carfax we received from the dealer, it said they took delivery in February. Also, the car was part of a corporate lease dump from some company. I'm not sure the parameters here, but many fortune 500 companies subside the sale of cars at auction to get them off the books. I asked what they paid for it to the salesman who would share that with me. My guess is they would make much more of this kind of car than a new car. Hence, my decision to not bend on my data-driven offer. And the kicker was the offer on the warrenty. SCANDELOUS! Net, Superior (the auto group as a whole) still lives up to its long-time rep of being shady and having those old-car sales practices. The people on the floor we dealt with were not knowledegable enough to help anyone. This was truly a waste of 1.5 hours of our day. They have nice looking cars and a nice looking showroom. But, there are many of other dealers and cars to choose from. Be careful at this dealer UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE...UPDATE....UPDATE....... Well, here's the brief and only update. The original salesperson called us back the next day (4/18). We told her of our experience and she said what she would do is take our info back and try to get the deal done. So, we told her what our offer was and why and that we were not prepared to go any higher as the value from our research just did not warrent that. Later that day, my wife got a call on her cell from Gary Reed saying he had "good news" and that we should come down and retalk this. My wife went armed with info and found herself with the idiot Gerald, the original sales person Cat and Gary Reed. They then brought in the Used Car Manager--forgot his name. First, thier "good news" was they lowered the price $100.00...which was laughable. Then my wife says for the next 45 minutes she was brow beaten about the fact the would not make money, the car is rare (it's a KIA Koup!) and that we were just not willing to meet them on the car. They also informed my wife the rear camera we'd been offered would cost an added $500.00. At this pooint, she was not sure what to believe and said she would think about it overnight. They called the following day and we said we were done and we would not consider any deal. Here's the moral of the story. Old-time practices of selling cars do not work with everybody anymore. Sales consultants that are not knowledgeable are useless. And, Dealer Managers that whine and moan about profit will not work any more. Superior is caught up in a time warp More
Gerald was very nice and kind. (Which was nice considering the guy he helped me at the Hyundai dealer across the way was intimidating and pushy.) I purchased a used 2011 Rio, and it is the first c considering the guy he helped me at the Hyundai dealer across the way was intimidating and pushy.) I purchased a used 2011 Rio, and it is the first car I ever bought. Personally, I felt comfortable with him and that he was trying to give honest answers, however I am not experienced with car dealers, so I could be naive. I would rate customer service and pleasantness high. I did have a couple negative thoughts from my family members who came with me to help point me in the right direction: 1) My mother thought he wasn't as knowledgeable as she had hoped. When we were initially asking about specifics, open ended answers were given since it all depended on a variety a factors, but there was still no ballpark figure to work with. 2) They would not make a second set of keys to the car. It cost an additional fee. 3) They would not fill up the gas in the car before we left the lot just because it was used. 4) Getting the price down was hard. Haggling is always difficult, but even though the car was priced at $14k sticker price, and online it was $12k, they wouldn't go much lower than the online price. The excuse was that "there is a different market online." If it wasn't for the urgency of replacing the vehicle, I would have took my business to Cronin. (They didn't have any 2011 Rio's on the lot, so we didn't have the luxury of comparing prices nor did we have the time to drive all over Cincinnati to get a better deal.) That aside, I wouldn't disregard this place or Gerald, and would possibly recommend, but I there is room for improvement. More
I was in the process of buying my first new car. I've heard many horror stories about car salesmen and that they will do whatever just to get the sale. So at first I was very apprehensive about the proc heard many horror stories about car salesmen and that they will do whatever just to get the sale. So at first I was very apprehensive about the process. After a ton of research, I narrowed my search down to a Hyundai Accent or a Kia Rio so i decided to start going to dealerships and discussing options. Superior Kia was the 2nd place I stopped and Gerald Greene was the first to introduce himself. Of course my guard was up because I had never done this before and I'm young so immediately I thought he would just try to get one over on me. To make a long story short, Gerald told me after I test drove the vehicles that I should go look at other dealerships and their prices and bring it back to him. He said that he could beat it by $200. I went back to Gerald multiple times with lower prices and he delivered and beat them both. He is a very friendly guy and I've learned that the stereotype about car salesmen doesn't exist in Gerald Greene. He was very knowledgable, understanding, and patient with everything. Highly recommend him. More
I have never rated a dealership or any type of services before but I thought the outstanding service I got was worth sharing with any potential customer/buyer. The guy's name is Jason Mersch - the most pat before but I thought the outstanding service I got was worth sharing with any potential customer/buyer. The guy's name is Jason Mersch - the most patient and helpful person you would ever see. Not only did he help me find the car I was looking for but he followed through. He was, has been, and is always there to help out. I would recommend him to anyone that is looking to buy a car. After all it is not simply about the car but also ones peace of mind. And getting all those after sale services from Jason was a relief. I know at least there is someone who cares and who will help. Jason: I don't know if you will ever see my review of you but You are the guy. Thank you so much for all the help. And in french we say: "Mille Merci" which means a Thousand Thanks!! More
Let me first off state that my wife and I worked with Gerald Greene and absolutely loved Gerald. He was top notch all the way and did his job correctly and was also very patient with us. We greatly appr Gerald Greene and absolutely loved Gerald. He was top notch all the way and did his job correctly and was also very patient with us. We greatly appreciated the time he took to work with us and answer all of our questions. Extremely friendly, helpful and just a super nice guy. Now with that being said, some of the other guys were nice as well, but when it came time to go all in, my wife and I became very annoyed when they would no longer talk price with us (this wasn't Gerald but another employee). They kept beating around the bush, they would only ask how much do you want your payments to be a month, and would never give us real actual numbers. I was getting frustrated by the fact I wanted the amount we were paying in total and they flat out would not give us the final number no matter what. We went back and forth on pricing for over 2 hours and then when we went to purchase the vehicle and got the final invoice, the price was literally back to where we had started. We worked for two hours and didn't get really anything taken off the price. Even though I was promised they were coming down on the price before we even showed up. They had already told me that we could certainly work on the price and was guaranteed that as long as what I offered was reasonable then they would let it go. Well apparently my price wasn't going to be reasonable to them unless it was the full asking price they had on their website. Ugh. They also promised to repaint the front bumper because it looked like it had driven through a storm of razor blades or something, and when I picked it up it looked decent, however after only about a month it started chipping and coming off. They did no prep work whatsoever, and now it's looking terrible. It was just whatever it took to get me out of there. Also they were supposed to do some touch up paint on a few area's and it looked hiddeous.I don't place this on the guys that work up front, but more so on the body shop and it's leadership. But after the second time taking it back for the touch up and it not looking any better I decided they didn't have the capability to make it look halfway decent so I had to purchase paint myself and do it right. I will say that they did take good care of us when it came to giving us a rental vehicle while our new vehicle was in the shop. In that area they went above and beyond. Ultimately I would recommend Gerald Greene any day and as I stated some of the other guys were really nice as well. But when it came time to talk real numbers I got a major run around and also I would never recommend there paint and body shop. I'm sure for a paying customer they do better, but the reality was I was a paying customer, I payed $15,000 for our vehicle I think that's enough incentive to want to do the paint work right. So my experience had it's highs and lows so would I recommend? Ahh, not sure. I'm kind of in the middle on my experience. Some things were really great while other things were just terrible. I normally don't write reviews for things, but with this experience I thought someone might come on here and gain some knowledge on this dealership. My goal was not to bash them or be nasty, but to be honest in my experience so that someone else could possibly benefit(positive or negative). I'm not calling them the worst on the planet, cause after all we did end up buying the vehicle from them. Ultimately I feel they are a decent dealership that just have some area's that really need addressed in order to make the experience better for the buyer so that they will come back time and time again. I'm certainly not one of those impossible to please people. I'm actually very laid back. At the end of the day I want to feel like I'm generally cared about as a buyer and it's not just about getting my money. For the most part I felt that from Gerald and the rest of the staff. I just had some of those squemish moments along the way, but I guess that's to be expected from almost every dealership. More
