I own a 2006 Sonata which I purchased five years ago. A few weeks ago my airbag light went on and I made an appointment at the Jeff Wyler auto Mall in Springfield. When I dropped the car off I had only int few weeks ago my airbag light went on and I made an appointment at the Jeff Wyler auto Mall in Springfield. When I dropped the car off I had only intentions of having the airbag issue taken care. Later that day I was called by the Jeff Wyler service department and notified that there was nothing wrong with the airbag and that they simply cleared the fault. The technician then told me that my car had just over 60,000 miles and that I should have the 60,000 mile service done while the car was there. I asked him what that involved and how much it would cost. He said I would need a transmission flush, a coolant flush, a number of inspections, and my sparkplugs changed. The cost of a transmission flush was $169.95, the sparkplug replacement $364, and the coolant replacement $110. With the airbag diagnosis and some filter replacements the total bill came to $867.85. I informed the technician that I did not wish to have 60,000 mile service done at this time. The technician responded that he understood my feelings however I had a 100,000 mile warranty and I could have issues with Hyundai should I not perform the service and later have a claim. Not wishing to endanger my warranty I allowed the service. After having paid the bill I went home and put the bill in a stack of things to file. Last night as I was filing the bill I noticed a number of things on the bill started with the terms "customer states needs", or "customer requests". I then went to my car got my manual and looked up the requirements for the 60,000 mile maintenance. Here's what I found; the sparkplug replacement was required at 97,500 miles or 78 months, the transmission flush was required at 105,000 miles or seven years. In other words almost $540 by $867 bill was unnecessary maintenance. The Jeff Wyler shop may respond to this by stating that these were recommendations given to the customer and that the customer accepted these recommendations. That however was not the case. I was threatened with problems with my warranty if this work was not done. They had my car and my manual. Had I the opportunity to check this prior to approval I would have refused. My advice to any reader, check your book any time before you bring your car here for any reason. As for me, rest assured any additional maintenance required on my vehicle will not be done at Jeff Wyler. More

My 2012 Hyundai Tucson was my first new car and the experience was entirely positive thanks to Phillip Beach. Phil was very knowledgeable about the car and answered all my questions as well as pointin experience was entirely positive thanks to Phillip Beach. Phil was very knowledgeable about the car and answered all my questions as well as pointing out features I was not even aware of despite previous visits at other dealerships. I appreciated that Phil was never pushy and was also very accommodating to the fact that this was a very big purchase for me - he even came in on his day off so that I could drive off with my new car as soon as possible. Phil was great and I would not hesitate to recommend working with him to anyone I know who's in the market for a new car. More
