Likes to take advantage of elderly customers My 80 y.o. parents went in to buy a new 2017 Chevy Traverse the other day and was taken advantage of by Roy Offenberger (sales professional). Specifi My 80 y.o. parents went in to buy a new 2017 Chevy Traverse the other day and was taken advantage of by Roy Offenberger (sales professional). Specifically they ended up paying approximately $3000.00 more than the price they quoted on their webpage (after factoring in the additional OH state Sales Tax and fees). They were told they received all the available rebates that were available and there was no way they could go any lower on the price, when in fact the price they had listed on their own webpage started out $3K cheaper without even negotiating. They also asked about a military rebate and was assured it was applied with all the other rebates but it was not given as well once all of the paperwork was done up. It is my opinion that the salesman took advantage of my parents because of their trusting nature, they are old school and take people by their word, if they say it was done or that the price could be no lower then they take it for face value. They are naive to the shady tactics of the typical car salesman and have been taken once more. Throughout the entire deal the salesman used redirection and confusion to get more money out of them and to get the best deal possible for their dealership and his commission than taking care of the elderly customers. The car they bought also did not come with running boards and they were told it would be no problem to add those and he would take care of them with regards to that as well, so they thought that was in with the final price of the vehicle as well, and after they got home and talked with me about it I went over the contract and paperwork with them and told them they were not due any running boards according to the contract so they are out that as well. I tried contacting the dealership, specifically Roy Offenberger to voice my displeasure with him and his sales tactics with regards to how he dealt with my elder parents and left 2 messages that were never returned. Jeff Wyler Eastgate Auto Mall also has on their webpage the "Sleep easy pricing Policy" I would be cautious this is somewhat misleading, yes they seemed to have a fair price listed on their webpage for specifically that vehicle but they were not upfront with those details to someone that is not very knowledgeable with the internet. So bottom line buyer beware if you are not very savvy at internet usage, or dealing with typical salesman tactics I would suggest either not buying from this dealership or take someone with you that will ensure you are not getting screwed over. (Note I live out of state or I would have gone with them) More
