Nightmare experience. Car buyers BEWARE of manipulation/lies On 1-30-16 my step son and I stopped by Jeff Wyler used car lot to see what all they had and to get some ideas on pricing. My son has 04 Grand Prix wi On 1-30-16 my step son and I stopped by Jeff Wyler used car lot to see what all they had and to get some ideas on pricing. My son has 04 Grand Prix with 180k miles and was looking to get something newer with less miles. Buying another car without selling his first or trading it in as a down payment to lower his payments was NOT an option and I made that very clear multiple times to the first sales guy we dealt with, Kyle Thielmeyer. We did find an 09 Charger that my step son and I were very happy with so we started to work toward that deal. I asked Kyle several times through the 2.5 hours we spent there how much they would give us trade in on the car. He finally took all the info on the car and left for a while to go see how much they would give as trade in. He came back and said $500. I explained the car is worth more than that and I could not accept that. He explained that we could get the Charger today then when we sold the car we could put the money in a bank account and use it as a buffer to make the payments on the Charger. I explained we were not going to do that. We talked about the trade in value of the car and he told me many times that they would send the car to auction and it would only bring $500 and that they could not do more than that. I understood his position and he understood mine so it seemed. I asked him for his card so I could contact him when we got the Grand Prix sold. He said the Charger will likely not be there in a week or it may be at a higher price at that time. I told him that if that is his answer when I contact him I would completely understand and asked him again for his card. He just kept ignoring the question and kept asking me questions to get me more interested in the Charger so I simply kept explaining my position over and over again. Finally he said "ok, I will go get you one of my cards but if my manager comes out to talk to you just let him know what is going on". I said sure no problem. 3 seconds after Kyle walked away Greg Flick walked up with a big smile on his face, shook our hands and asked if there was anything he could do to help. I explained my position to him all over again and he explained how their numbers are down for the month, down for the day, the last day of the month is tomorrow and he would be willing to do just about anything to get this deal done. He says well how about I do $1000 on the trade in. I said I would still need to come back at a later time with my wife since she works at the bank we will be getting the loan through. He said well how about I do $1500 on the trade. I said you are getting closer, then repeated what I said about my wife needing to be there. He said how about I do $1800. I said the same thing. He said how about I do $2000 on the trade in as he wrote the numbers down each time on his paper. I said yes, that would get the deal done, he then handed me the marker and asked me to initial the deal and I did. Then repeated for the 5th time what I said about my wife needing to be there. I explained we could come back today or tomorrow and make the deal then but I have a 4pm appointment to get to. He asked me what the appointment was for (as if he was going to try and talk me out of going to it) and I replied it was a long story. Then he tried to get me to believe that we could have this deal wrapped up in time for me to be at my 4pm appointment without even knowing how much drive time was involved. This told me that he did not respect my time and he had no concern about me making it to my appointment on time. He only cared about what was in his best interest. At this time it was 320 and we had been there at least 2.5 hours. Obviously at this point Greg the "closer" and so called manager was put out he could not get me to buy on the spot and told Kyle to give me his card. He got very short with us and was visibly agitated as I recapped the next steps and said our awkward goodbyes and thanks. This was extremely high pressure sales antics and Greg had been trained extremely well to nearly handcuff customers to keep them from leaving. The reason I say "so called manager" is because Greg is listed on your website as a sales consultant just like Kyle. Bottom line is if we could do the $2000 trade in deal then everyone walks away happy, it would save me time selling the car and our son would have the car for his birthday the very next day. I spoke to my wife after my 4pm appointment and she agreed so we all returned at 6pm. I called Kyle before we were on our way to let him know but he did not answer his cell phone. I found Kyle when we arrived and simply said if we can do the $2000 trade in, then it's a deal. Kyle went and got Greg and explained the deal to him which was the same deal we discussed just 2.5 hours earlier. At this point we had no further dealings with Kyle, Greg took over and I thought this was strange since he was the "manager" and they were not that busy. Greg led us to believe the deal was on and proceeded to get the financing paperwork in order. I asked about the trade in and Greg said they were inspecting the car. The body and interior were in amazingly great shape even with 180k miles on it. The engine runs very well with the normal 180k mile ticks etc. Based on what I was told from Kyle several times they were only looking to get a maximum of $500 for it at the auction so in my mind the extra $1500 Greg was offering for it was coming off the price of the new car. In either case that was fine with me. 2+ hours went by getting the financing part taken care of (a lot of this delay had to do with my wife's bank) and the trade in car was inspected much earlier and there was no mention of any kind of problem, hold up or deal breaker. Again, we were led to believe the deal was going through as agreed. Our son was getting more excited by the minute and at this point was 100% emotionally invested. Another 30 minutes went by sitting at this table as it was 830 in the evening and none of us had dinner yet. As soon as the financing was 100% and we thought we would be leaving soon, Greg comes to us and says "the trade in car has a bad motor, we will not give you anything for it and we will not take the car in trade". At this point Greg's demeanor had completely changed. He was no longer smiling. His voice was stern, his questions and statements were short, dry and to the point. I asked him some specific questions about the "bad motor" findings and he went to get the mechanic to talk to me. He explained there is a "tick noise" in the engine that is likely wear on the cam shaft. He said you can hear it while the car is in park or neutral if you rev the engine to 4000 RPM. It did not sit well with me that he was out there revving the engine multiple times to 4000 RPM! I said the car is a daily driver and runs great. He simply said because of this noise they can't take the car in trade. I'm thinking the whole time with 180k miles did they think the car's engine would sound like it did when it was new?!? I was disgusted with their apparent attempt to derail the deal we agreed upon. Anyway, I sat back down and recapped with Greg that they were only expecting to get $500 from the car at the auction even if everything checked out fine with it and that we could still get this deal done by taking the $1500 planned loss for the trade in and take that $1500 off the price of the new car. He said no, the trade in car would bring $1500 to $2000 at an auction if the motor wasn't bad so no I can't take any money off the price of the car. I said if that is true then Kyle lied to me earlier when he told me the car would bring a maximum of $500 at the auction. Greg said Kyle did not lie to you. I said then you are lying to me because you both can't be telling me the truth! He scratched 6 or 8 squares with pricing on the back of a piece of paper in an effort to convince me I was not lied to. I said Greg, this is not the deal we discussed, what can you do on the advertised price of the car? He left for a minute and came back and said, we can't come down on the price of the car. I said not at all? He said no. He explained that there are a lot of cars on the lot with $4000 to $5000 in mark up but this was not one of them. At that point I turned to my wife and step son and said "I'm out of this, the decision is yours". They heard the whole conversation between Greg and I and knew how frustrated I was over the whole thing. I should have said lets go and walked out but I knew of the extreme time invested on the eve of our son's birthday. My wife made the decision to buy the car anyway just as Greg and I knew she would. At this point Greg left the table and had his finance guy finish everything up. Neither Kyle nor Greg once ever thanked us, wished us luck, said goodby or anything! NOT ONE WORD! They both left for the night and let the finance guy finish with us. Hind sight tells me I was lied to by Greg earlier in the day when he told me $2000 trade in, in an effort to keep me there to get financing approved and to get us emotionally invested. Kyle at least was honest when he told me they really didn't want the trade in with that many miles on it. I was fine with that and understood but at the same time was not going to by a car without selling that one first and use the money for a down payment. I strongly believe Greg made the offer I wanted to hear just to keep us there without having any intention of doing the deal we agreed on. I wish we would have walked away. My wife, our son and I feel manipulated by a well trained master manipulator that knew if he played his cards right he would get the deal done on his terms while completely ignoring the original deal that we agreed upon. On top of being flat out lied to by Kyle but mostly by Greg they leave the building and completely ignore us after my wife agreed to paying the full advertised price of the car! This was the second used car we have purchased here in the past 4 to 5 years. The first was with Eric Hyrne and overall we were pleased with the entire experience. Being in sales myself for the better part of 30 years, it was easy to see Eric had gone through a lot of sales training and he was very good at putting that training to good use. Eric did not once lie to me or promise me anything to get the hook in a little deeper, that he did not intend on following through with. Eric also followed up the next day or two with phone calls and emails to make sure everything was great with the car we purchased. 48 hours after our recent experience no one has contacted us in any way to make sure everything was ok. We were pleased enough with Eric's experience that we came back to shop again. I even gave Eric a good review/feedback. Now I know that Eric was promoted to a sales manager position not Greg. The recent experience was quite different. If a potential customer wants to go and look around on this lot with no intentions of buying a car right now but wants to leave with some ideas on some cars and the business card of the sales guy who helped them get some information, they can't in anyway shape or form do this without spending a half a day, be lied to, promised the world and "putting off" the so called "manager" to the point where you are uncomfortable. They behave as if they get taken to the back room and get beat if they let a customer leave without selling them a car and they are upset with you as if that beating they receive is your fault. They will do whatever they have to do even if it means using the "force" to the dark side. They are very well trained to read body language and your emotional investment. There is nothing wrong with being good at doing this, this is all part of sales, sales is sales. The problem is when they combine these talents with lies and deception to manipulate you to do what they want you to do to the point where what you really want as a customer becomes irrelevant and completely discarded! I will copy this letter to all involved in this transaction as well as upper management. I will post this review to social media sites, Google, Angie's list, Yelp and file this with the BBB. After $30,000 in total business with Jeff Wyler, I will never buy another car from any of his lots or buy any more parts from his dealerships as I have many, many times through the years. If Jeff Wyler cares as much about his reputation as he appears to, he will see to it that the problem he has in Greg and anyone else like Greg is fixed. The Intent of this letter is make you aware of exactly what happened and how unhappy we are with how this played out. Your processes are perfect and should not be changed if you only care about selling cars and care nothing about having happy customers that will return to also buy a car in the future. If you care about happy returning customers and Kyle/Greg were following your processes, your processes need fixed in a bad way. One day you will run out of brand new customers that do not read on line reviews like this one. DO NOT IN ANY WAY CONTACT ME, MY WIFE OR OUR SON TO DISCUSS THIS. There is nothing we want from you at this point or ever again. We do not like the way you do business and we do not trust you! We will not spend another dime anywhere with Jeff Wyler's name on it and I will let many others know of your sales antics, lies, deception and horrific sales processes all in the name of making the sale with extreme disregard of your precious customers! Respectfully submitted, Joe O'Connor More

You're just another deal If you're in the market to purchase a vehicle, Jeff Wyler has a very strong presence in Greater Cincinnati. Unfortunately, because of their massive am If you're in the market to purchase a vehicle, Jeff Wyler has a very strong presence in Greater Cincinnati. Unfortunately, because of their massive amount of inventory and sales volume, the customer is merely a necessity to move a commodity. Advertised Internet prices are not honored without a bit of a fuss, and don't even consider taking advantage of any offers that are advertised. They weasel their way out of any of those at any cost. Whether it be more on your trade or their promise to buy a bad car back, they'll have an excuse waiting to eliminate their responsibility to it. Should you have the distinct pleasure of having a major manufacturer defect with your brand new car, rest assured the folks at the Jeff Wyler body shop will do everything necessary to correct the problem. Sadly, damaging your new investment, requiring multiple additional repairs and equipment replacement, are a very real part of that package. Three months later, you're still trying to get them to correct their blunders. But they'll assure you at each new visit to do anything to make it right. Except stand behind their word. One manager can give you a written, signed guarantee of warranty, only to refuse to honor it later. In the end, you end up with another new vehicle. Because they bought your other, defective car back after another failure. The engine this time. But it's the same vehicle at a different, higher price. Because try can't take the financial burden of responsibility for failure. This detail won't stop them from listing your replaced car for more than it's worth when it's time to resell it. More than you paid for it. More than original MSRP. Way more than its NADA value. Nor does it affect their honesty in omitting five separate service from their CARFAX summary. So if you need a car, Wyler is an option. For some. My family will never set foot on one of their lots again. Hopefully for those that do, service after the sale isn't a factor. More
