The car was dirty when I first looked it over, The quote from the salesman "we'll detail it before you take it." After being at the dealership for 4 hours, it was 10 PM, I took the car home. There were de from the salesman "we'll detail it before you take it." After being at the dealership for 4 hours, it was 10 PM, I took the car home. There were dead leaves in the trunk area, hair on the back seat, crumbs, on the console, sneeze spray on the front windshield and review mirror, spilled food on the dash. The attempt at cleaning the windshield on the outside, just spread the dead bugs out, I could go on. They left me a grand opening sign in the trunk along with the new floor mats. The inspection sheet stated that the windshield was inspected, it didn't note the poor repair of chip I found the next morning. Did take the car back the next day, they did make attempt to clean it, they did a very poor job at the second try, Even the salesman that delivered the car noticed the crumbs still in the car, the windows were clean in areas, with a heavy film that comes from using a dirty rag to clean windows. Be aware don't sign anything until your happy with the car. I felt I got a good deal, but it didn't say as is. More

I was my intention to merely look at the cars that were available, but not to purchase one that weekend. In fact, I had not intended to purchase a Miata at all. The price for the car wa Service and friendliness were great. I liked my salesperson. He was informative, available when needed, and not pushy. The price for the car was very good. My only complain was that some dealer work (paint and interior protections) were done beforehand and I paid for them. They were given to me at dealer cost but I did not ask for them. This was a minor thing but still a little irritating. I would have like to have been given the choice first rather than been asked to pay for it after the fact. Also, since I bought the car I have read up on driving techniques for the engine break-in period, the first 1000 miles. I regret having seriously violated these practices during my test drives. It would have been nice if my salesperson would have known more about these and passed them on beforehand. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend this dealership and Mazda to others. Came in looking for a used car and good gas mileage just like a lot of people right now. Sam was the salesman I worked with and from the get go he felt more like a friend helping me look at the car than yo like a lot of people right now. Sam was the salesman I worked with and from the get go he felt more like a friend helping me look at the car than your typical salesman. When it came time for negotiating price again it was like he was on my team. This being the fourth car I have purchased in 2 years i can tell you this is rare. It was almost to hard to believe which is why i have given the car a few months to prove me wrong but no surprises. To take it one step further they offered to remove a large dent from the front bumper as part of the sale and Sam called me to set it up and called me when it was finished. This is why Sam is the man and I will be using him and recommending him to anyone I talk to about purchasing a car. The bumper looked brand new when i picked up the car also. More
Basically one of the best experiences I've ever had! Chris was professional and extremely knowledgeable. The only salesman I've ever known to care more about the customers expectations than their commis Chris was professional and extremely knowledgeable. The only salesman I've ever known to care more about the customers expectations than their commission. I was extremely impressed with the quality and features on the Mazda 3. I have always been an "american" car buyer , but the quality of this car is second to none. For the price and MPG it can't be beat, and Chris was the icing on the cake! Even offering to allow me to drive the Mazda to another dealership to test drive a different car (a chevy HHR, which was laughable after driving the 3)! After the high pressure sales tactics used by Matt Castrucci Mazda, Jeff Schmitt was a welcome change. They were easy to deal with on price, and the sales/financing departments are second to none! I've woken up at 730 in the morning 3 days in a row only to work or go to school till 10 at night and bed at around 1 because of homework, been late for class and almost missing a test, had 30 miles of wast to work or go to school till 10 at night and bed at around 1 because of homework, been late for class and almost missing a test, had 30 miles of wasted gas due to the technician driving my car 30 miles for "testing" (didn't even refill my tank any)and to top it all off my time constraints was the reason for this them not fixing the part properly the second time when it was gunked up. Sorry I work and am in school so I don't have time to sit around and do nothing. Jeff Schmitt Auto Group should have stepped their game up they've lost 2 customers. Originally I defended them for not calling about the part. But not any more. If I order a part on Monday the 2nd and you expect the valve to be in on the 5th or 6th, why did my mother have to call the 11th to see if the part was in? Apparently it came in on Tuesday. I do not have the shipping invoice and will give them the benefit of the doubt but near end of business day on the 11th there had not been a phone call to inform us of when we could have it installed. This is not the first time they have ordered a part which we paid for ands received no notification on it's arrival, but the other story is my mothers to tell. This dealership has lost all credibility with me for this problem. If you need more time to fix something, then ask for it don't do a rush job and mess up or not completely fix the problem. Either they though I was less than a customer and was some bum that had nothing better to do than sit around for this problem to be fixed or they thought they could half do it. I know the reasons behind there being gunk built up which could lead to another trip up to the dealership for more removal but why wasn't I informed of this at the time of pick up? When the excuse that they "couldn't get it all out" and "the time limit was too short", I became completely flustered. Being a person who sells Verizon Wireless with near perfect customer service, the customers best interest is always in mind. We are all human I would have no qualms about explaining these problems in the beginning to them; not only to cover my bases but also to find any hesitations or possible scheduling conflict with my customer. Actually, it happens all the time when I am selling phones. The customer often needs to come back in to do the upgrade or to transfer pictures, which can take hours. If my credibility comes into question I believe my record and account manager's approval will speak for me as well as the many customer complements my bosses have received. I was going to let mom handle this (I think she still will) but me being a nerd I decided to take the route of my people and write about it. More
I was looking for a new car, I had a budget in mind, and I wanted a car that gets great mileage. I drove the Toyota Corolla, followed by the Honda Civic, then the Ford Focus. After those test drives, I did I wanted a car that gets great mileage. I drove the Toyota Corolla, followed by the Honda Civic, then the Ford Focus. After those test drives, I didn't feel any of them had all the features I was looking for. I decided to visit Jeff Scmitt Mazda, just across the street from the other dealerships, and was welcomed by Sam Cotterman, who invited me to test drive the Mazda 3. I was pleasantly surprised by the power this car has, even though it's only a 2.0 liter it had a 5 speed automatic, so it runs really quiet at high speeds. The interior is much nicer than the other base models I tested, and has more standard features in the base model. I knew after test driving the Mazda 3 that I was going to buy it. I had shopped extensively on the internet, and had some other price quotes from other Mazda dealerships in Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati. The salesmen at Jeff Schmitt worked with me to get a good price, and I bought my Mazda 3 knowing I had made the best deal possible. I love my new car, and the mileage is great, and averages much higher than the window sticker shows. The showroom is warm and inviting, very colorful and the service dept. is really top notch. I will be taking my new car in for the first oil change soon, which is complimentary. I rate my car buying experience at Jeff Scmitt excellent, and would like to thank Sam, Reggie, and Todd for their friendly and professional assistance. If you're shopping for a great small car on the Rt. 35 dealership strip, don't forget to stop in at Jeff Schmitt! More
