Sales guy was great, but the financial department was extremely pushy trying to sell extra warranties. There were also a lot of hidden fees that brought the total cost of the vehicle thousands of dollars above the list price. And they never sent me the new licence plates after purchasing the vehicle until after the paper plates ran out and I had to call them. More

My wife has bad knees and could not walk around the parking lot, thus he took the opportunity to bring the cars so that my wife (who is very picky) can look at the colors. Drove from Austin to Houston because Jeff Haas Mazda had "no dealer markups or hidden fees" written all over their website. Got to the dealership and "no fees" doesn't include $1500 for garbage addons like 3rd party GPS tracking (that I didn't ask for or want) and several hundred dollars in plastic film on the door edges and other things. After threatening to walk several times they capitulated and removed those from the deal. As far as financing goes I had been pre-approved through Capital One for a 1.9% loan. Unfortunately Haas "policy" is to make it extraordinarily difficult to use third party lending. They assured me that their partner lenders would provide competitive rates and that that was the only way I'd be able to leave the dealership with the vehicle that day. Competitive rates in this case was 4.9% or 250% more than my loan that I brought with me. And guess who it was with? Capital One. Since I had my daughter with me and it was a school night I decided to go ahead and take the loan and the car and refinance it later. Unfortunately, to get through the deal I had to wait over an hour (in a mostly vacated building since it was after hours) and go through the finance and add-on gauntlet. No I didn't want a third party warranty. No I didn't want to bring in the car for a paid firmware upgrade. And on and on. I'm certain it was out of spite but after the deal was completed about 3 hours later we were driving home when the satellite radio trial went dead. It was actually quite humorous to watch because the channels stopped working from higher numbers to lower numbers over about 30 seconds. I guess they were trying to recoup a few dollars. Fortunately though I was able to call the radio people and reset the 90 day free trial. I don't particularly care for XM but wanted to try it out and see if it was any better than when I bought my last car. It wasn't. at 90 days I went to spotify for a far superior value. Now let's talk about "make ready." This was a six year old Miata with 15,000 miles on it. This was a CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED vehicle. When I test drove the vehicle the service minder light was on saying it had been well over 500 days since the last oil change. Even though it was certified there was little benefit because any certified warranty appears to be tied to the age as well. My coverage would terminate at 7 years total time. Overall the car was pretty good but I'd suggest buying a soft top in the daytime as mine was riddled with mold that I didn't see during the test drive. The car ran flawlessly for the 8000 miles I owned it before it was totaled by a drunk driver. I'd rate the Mazda engineers 5/5 stars though because when I was rear ended the energy dissipated from right rear across the trunk, into the right door and nothing into the passenger area. The tire and suspension was ripped almost completely from the vehicle and I was knocked about 50 feet through the intersection. I'm currently in the market for another Miata and another dealer to provide it. One last note. The people I worked with, aside from the salesman, were all pretty congenial and easy to work with. The policies that put barriers up at every turn--notsomuch. More

Had an accident this week and he steered back to Best Collision. Helped me out on a few things to be aware of…I can run thinking or ideas past him and get good advise that I trust! Just appreciate him so much…he looks after me and you just don’t seem to get that personal touch nowadays. You do at Jeff Haas Mazda-especially with Carlos Guzman. Lauryn is a true professional who was very patient with us in answering all the questions we had. She explained in detail the pros and cons of various models in detail and really helped us to get the car that fits our needs. She even stayed beyond workinghours until we completed all the paperworks including financing. She very happily arranged test drive for variuos models that we wanted to test which was helpful for us to make the selection. Most importantly Lauryn never tried to push certain model to us and she was helping find the right car for us. A very pleasant experience and we would work with Lauryn any day! More
