OK this might be premature as the work has not yet been completed on my '02 Excursion that I purchased from a private party. In my 25 years behind the wheel, have only been to a dealer twice for repairs. I generally maintain my own vehicles and take on most of the major repairs. Well after 5 days in the driveway, under my new purchase, I finally threw in the towel. I was stumped by a check engine code that would just not go away. I replaced a ton of parts and followed procedures outlined in the Ford Service Manual. I came to the realization that I just don't have the diagnostic tools the mechanics at the dealership have. I am starting to find out why I got such a "great deal" on this vehicle. Apparently the party I purchased from did not disclose some real problems this vehicle had. After doing lots of research I have learned that lots of people have the sensor error that I am having and it's not easy to fix or troubleshoot. Some with the problem have documented stories online that have lasted close to two years without resolution. Well I just received a call from Jeremy at Janell and he had a breakthrough. They were able to recreate the problem I was having, while my vehicle was connected to their diagnostic equipment. They noticed a problem completely unrelated to my engine code and it happened at the exact same time that my check engine light came on. I am so impressed. I had to write this review. I will follow up after I get my repair bill. Oh, one more thing. I decided to go to this dealer which wasn't the closest dealer to me based on the reviews on this site. I had to break down and buy a new car after 10 years. I saw the Ford Edge's on the road and on line and I liked the look of them. I really liked the burgendy color but you don't see many of those. My husband and I went out to dinner on a Monday night and we stopped in to look at the Edge's. Low and behold Jannell had the burgendy color in the SE. Rich Bernard was great, he didn't push us to buy that night. Rich showed us the different models of the Edge, but I was hooked on the burgendy color. That Saturday we went to purchase the vehicle. Rich, Eddie and Joanne were very friendly and worked with us on our trade and financing. I love my new car. I would recommend Jannell Ford for their customer service, willingness to work with us and the service center was great (I had to come back for an inspection sticker.) More
