Worst service EVER! Called and explained 3 issues that I wanted checked. A rattling noise coming from the front when driving up an incline, Rear vibration when turning Called and explained 3 issues that I wanted checked. A rattling noise coming from the front when driving up an incline, Rear vibration when turning and pulling up my drive has lack of power. She had said for a diagnostic it would be $159. Had a 8:00am appointment for Tuesday. Took it to them on Monday at 10:30am where it set until the last time I saw it at 3:30 pm on Tuesday. Called and explained the front end noise (IWE). Never addressed the rear end vibration and never addressed the lack of power. Simply didn't listen to what my concerns were when I called and the Service Manager didn't seem to concerned either about anything but the IWE. Worst service I've had in my life and will NEVER go back More
James River Ford staff put the fun back into buying a car. Tony, Chris, Tyler B. and Tyler N. each provided me with blue ribbon service. It all began with Tony--it was 6:45 pm, 18-degrees, with snow and car. Tony, Chris, Tyler B. and Tyler N. each provided me with blue ribbon service. It all began with Tony--it was 6:45 pm, 18-degrees, with snow and ice from the day covering everything. On such a cold evening he gave me a warm and sincere greeting as he came out onto the lot as he approached my car. Tony made it easy--he asked if I knew what kind of a car I wanted and if I had a budget in mind as to what I could afford to spend. I had answers to both questions and Tony took it from there! He offered to show me two vehicles and was willing to scrape the snow and ice from the vehicles. I returned the following evening and Tony had the vehicles prepped and ready for test-driving. Tony clearly had MY best interests in mind and I felt he did his best to get me the best car for what I could spend. I came back two additional evenings to finalize the purchase. In addition to feeling welcomed by Tony, the overall feeling I had while being inside the dealership was calming and relaxed. All staff that I encountered were friendly and courteous. Chris, the finance manager, worked hard to help me get the best (lowest) financial option that was available. Like Tony, Chris was courteous and thoughtful and above all else, patient with me as I was doing my research and making my decisions. I had heard good things from a friend of mine regarding James River Ford. Their service far exceeded my expectations. Melanie B. More
I took in two clean cars, and got back two filthy cars to include grease on the seats, steering wheel, and seat belt. And not just once. Took in my F250 to replace two plastic trim pieces on the cab top. include grease on the seats, steering wheel, and seat belt. And not just once. Took in my F250 to replace two plastic trim pieces on the cab top. Hundreds of dollars and a month later, they finally did the job. The entire dealership is rundown, dirty, and sales personnel are not good; I’ve had to run down salesmen rather than them rushing to a potential customer. Their facility is even so bad you must slip in sideways to enter the men’s room! I hate using this dealership, but it’s 5 miles from my house, and the next closest three other Ford dealerships are just about as bad. Ford dealerships, in my experience across multiple states, are the pits! This one can’t even sell or service electric vehicles. I have a 2017 F250 and also had a 2015 Edge. More

Come to find out they don’t do any prep work before rolling a car out of the door. Their service department had the car for two weeks before they finally looked at it, only to tell me to tow it to the brand name dealership. The dealership looked at it and said that the car was almost 4,000 miles past an oil change, had metal shavings in the oil pan, and was 3.5 quarts of oil low. Oil light flickered on once or twice before we took it in the next day. i simply cannot imagine a dealership that can’t do a cursory inspection of fluid levels to see if a vehicle is ready to drive. After calling I was told that unless my extended warranty covers this (which it’s not going to) I was out of luck. Part of their broad “As Is, No Warranty” policy. Now I’m out $7,000 on a car I still owe $10,000 for and have owned for four months and 2,000 miles. More
I highly recommend the Sales Team at James River Ford. They were very upfront on pricing, fair and transparent. We felt like family. The Sales Manager, Logan was highly engaged from the time we arrived until we took delivery alongside his salesperson. Our Test drive, Negotiation, and paperwork only took about an hour to complete. Definitely Will be back in the future. More
