Shady as they come.. My '12 Malibu was involved in an accident where the entire vehicle was thrown into a neighboring parked vehicle and basically crumpled my entire trunk My '12 Malibu was involved in an accident where the entire vehicle was thrown into a neighboring parked vehicle and basically crumpled my entire trunk area. The cause, an F250 flatbed pulling a trailer loaded with wooden fence posts plowed into my passenger side while parked at my store. I purchased this vehicle brand new in '12 in Ohio, maintained the vehicle as required diligently. We decided to go with James Corlew auto body to repair damages, more to keep all GM parts, true to its form as possible. They had it for about 4 weeks, we picked it up, looked over the work done, etc. Had a shimmy at 65 mph, but no biggie, & service airbag light periodically would come on. Come February every now & again car wouldn't start, after you would have just shut it off for a quick errand? But start right back up 15 mins later or so. Sporadically, every 2-3 weeks, then weekly, then daily, multiple x a day. No check engine light, no warning, nothing. We called the dealer back, they picked it up, of course it wouldn't duplicate the prob when they arrived to tow, OR the entire 2 days they had it. But resealed areas where water was leaking into my trunk from snow/rain where instead of replacing, they hammered out existing/damaged ones when repairing initially. I would get 2" of water collecting around the spare before they resealed. However, we in the meantime of all this realized it was the relay switch in back fuse compartment in trunk that was getting HOT, even melting the rear window defogger fuse located right next to it. We told dealer this EVERYTIME they had possession, that & service airbag light kept coming on sporadically as well. Got it back, no problem for a week, then it wouldn't start indefinitely. Called shop back again, he referred me to their service dept, stating it had to be handled through them to diagnose and repair. Had vehicle towed there, had my car over weekend, no loaner offered, w/o a vehicle, stuck. Tell me 3 days later, it was my ECM, & throttle body was all gummed up, vehicle wouldn't run unless treated, total $954 out the door. Excuse me? I called around, my sis in laws dad is warranty admin @ chev dealer in OH. He informed that part is covered under warranty 8 yrs/80k mi, federally mandated even. Now why would they call someone, already conveying financial hardship, & drop such an astronomical $ amount on them w/o a care in the world, as if simply discussing the weather?? When I brought it to Aaron (srvc mgr) attn, he said aft a few fumbles & a long hold that he had his warranty admin there and they were going to have to "research" to see if is covered, he'd call me back in a few minutes. That call wasn't rec'd til next day, good news it was covered! Imagine that? So, had I of not known that, they were going to just take my hard earned $?? Finally, a loaner was given, due to warranty coverage, over a week they had it. Replace ECM, threw 2 new codes: 1) stating an oil change was needed (not even 1500 mi/6 wks ago bf changed, as he always does), 84% oil life left BEFORE they serviced, now reads 0% is "dirty" he claims? 2) Rear fuse compartment has short in it. DUH! We told them that from the get go! And, OF COURSE, undoubtedly with 100% certainty, this Aaron, being the best accident assessor they have on board, I'm SURE, still claims none of this is accident related! But in the same breath says the fuse box shorted the relay, which in turn surged the ECM, frying it?? Ummm, ok?? And this is just happenstance, right? He said, "it's VERY common ma'am, you can drive a car w/ less than 3K mi off the lot, & have this happen".....well that isn't saying much about your product! Out of pocket another $355. The VERY NEXT DAY, does same exact thing!! Breaks down on Ft Campbell @ advanced auto, have it towed AGAIN, have it all weekend AGAIN, give us another loaner. Call me 3 days later, it was the fuse for the ECM, charged me $0.83 for the part and $89.50 to diagnose, waived loaner fee.....awww so sweet of 'em?? Go to pick up, tried charging $340, I said, "Uhhhhh, NO." She looks at me as if I'm sprouting horns, arguing did I not have a rental, I argue Aaron said that was waived, I owe $115 out the door. After retrieving in computer, she seen adjusted amount, but had old printout. Absolutely disgusted with this place, prey on people who think they are going to a reputable name such as CHEVROLET, only to have it smeared & STEAL our HARD EARNED money. FYI.....Service Airbag light is STILL ON! More

New vehicle and service was terrible. Filed complaint to US While driving in Nashville for work the first occurrence started with check engine light. Moments later check traction control warning popped up and i While driving in Nashville for work the first occurrence started with check engine light. Moments later check traction control warning popped up and immediately after a Reduced Engine Power notification and vehicle lost power. I was doing 55 mph and moments later the vehicle would barely do 30 mph. I have no clue how this did not cause a wreck in the heavy traffic. I took the vehicle to the dealership I purchased it from (James Corlew in Clarksville, TN) and they told me it was a loose timing chain and that they fixed it. 4,000 miles later while working all the same messages popped up and the car completely stalled and would not restart on a busy bypass. Vehicle would not restart and I paid to have it towed. This time the dealership said they had to replace the entire timing chain assembly and a housing due to it being destroyed. Luckily it was again covered by power train warranty. They were also nice enough to service it for free. Vehicle ran great for 3600 miles and again the same message sequence occured. The car fortunately continued to run and I drove it straight to the dealership. I insisted it was a safety hazard and that I wanted to trade it in immediately. 2 hours later they offered me $7,000 under blue book because of engine problems. This was very funny of course since it is Chevrolet and the dealerships fault for selling such a lemon. I told them it was under warranty. To fix it again for free and I would pick it up. Dealership called next day. Said everything was fine. It was out of oil and that caused safeties to kick in and that created the problem. I ask how this is possible. You changed my oil 3600 miles ago. I was informed there was no record of me ever bring there although I have the print out showing every part replaced and the cost. I tool the vehicle and kept driving it. Last week (again 3800 miles later) the car produced all of the same messages and stalled on the same busy bypass. This time I had my 3 year old and 1 year old in the car. The speed limit is 55 so of course traffic regularly runs 60 mph. I was stranded with my children on 20 degree weather with no heat and cars flying by. I will be returning to dealership tomorrow and I am sure I will receive zero help again by the dealership or Chevrolet. This is a huge safety risk. 2011 Chevrolet Equinox bought new from James Corlew More
Was quoted over $1,200 to fix a leak in a water pump. No where online does it state that such a job should be over $800 (and that's if the mechanic shop wants to take advantage of someone who doesn't know a where online does it state that such a job should be over $800 (and that's if the mechanic shop wants to take advantage of someone who doesn't know anything about cars). The quote of just the labor was near $800. How do you justify this? The next day I went to a nearby mechanic shop (with highly satisfied ratings) where they actually showed in front of my two eyes that there was no leak present. Come to find out it was a closed thermostat. $120 later and it was fixed. My diagnosis alone at James Corlew was $109! And the only thing on the paper was basically everything I had told them through my telephone call. It made me wonder if they even checked my car. When my husband took his car to the Hyundai dealer they outline basically everything the car should get done in order of importance. James Corlew just gives you a sentence or two that you've already heard. Not even giving a detailed description of anything. They just tell you things in person and act as if you're supposed to retain it all in your head. My last visit happened because I was given a recall and this dealership acted like they didn't care. They even tried to tell me it wasn't a recall when clearly all of my issues were the same as the recall outlined. I will never recommend this dealership to anyone ever again. More

I had a used 2001 chevy prizm.... I had the engine light come on this car every 3-4 weeks, still under warranty I took it to their service center. they did their diagnostics on it and told me the first time come on this car every 3-4 weeks, still under warranty I took it to their service center. they did their diagnostics on it and told me the first time that my fuel sensors needed replaced. this was a car 2 years old with 21,000 miles on it. took it in and had it there for 3 days. got it back and 3 weeks later the light comes on again. took it back the same place and had the same error codes pop up. now they wanted to replace the fuel purge valve... so 5 days later they did and 5 days after that i got my car back. so far $2000 worth of parts and labor. 2 weeks after that the light came on again, same error code. now they did a pressure test and had the car for one day.... they flat out told me that they have no idea whats wrong anymore. 3 weeks later the light came on again. a friend of mine said take it to advanced auto, so i did. this lady came out with the diagnostic reader plugged it in and the same code popped up. she reached into her shirt pocket and pulled out a small book. she flipped to the page with the error code, which had a lot of pencil marks in it and she giggled after I told her what james corlew service had done. she went inside, grabbed a part off the shelf and brought it out. she told me to pop my fuel door... i did and she took the gas cap off... she opened up a package with another gas cap and she said "look at the difference" the threads on the one in the car were about 1/8" to 1/4" too short which kept on tripping the sensor causing the engine light to come on hence the error code P040, fuel system / pressure. after the new $11.00 gas cap, the engine light never came on again for the next 60,000 miles until i traded it in. what a service station, really??? I recently purchased a ’07 Equinox from James Corlew Chevrolet/Cadillac in Clarksville Tn. Prior to talking with the sales reps, Krista and Michael Sutherland, seeing the vehicle, and actually Corlew Chevrolet/Cadillac in Clarksville Tn. Prior to talking with the sales reps, Krista and Michael Sutherland, seeing the vehicle, and actually driving it I was dead set on getting another Toyota and was convinced that no other vehicle could compare. Krista and Michael Sutherland were EXTREMELY professional, approachable, knowledgeable, and very down to earth. There was another gentlemen who was apart of their team who showed me and talk to me about my vehicle prior to me driving off with it. Going through this experience with Krista, Michael, and the other gentlemen, made me feel as though I was adopting their child or purchasing a one of a kind champion bloodline pet. They took such pride in the vehicle and had true concern for me and my wants. They ensured and took the time to get what I wanted, not what vehicles were available on the lot. (Which is was Toyota was trying to do) Words can not express how completely satisfied I am with my whole experience with James Corlew Chevrolet not to mention my new SUV. I just wanted to share how fulfilled and ecstatic I am about my Chevrolet experience. I am truly proud and willing and wanting to tell/write to everyone and anyone who will listen/read what I have to say about James Corlew Chevrolet in Clarksville, Tn. Sincerely, SFC Bashira K.
