I drive a 2009 Mazda 3 and recently had a drive belt snap. The car was towed to Jake Sweeney Mazda in Sprindale.I was qouted a repair cost of $472 to replace two belts(air compressor and drive belt) and snap. The car was towed to Jake Sweeney Mazda in Sprindale.I was qouted a repair cost of $472 to replace two belts(air compressor and drive belt) and the drive belt tentioner. The dealership called me back and said the car still would not start after the installation of the new parts. The dealer requested approval for further diagnosis which I granted. The service advisor advised me it would cost an additional $450 in repairs to get car repaired because the belt had wrapped around the crank pulley and caused the engine to jump time. I informed the service advisor I could not afford the additional costs and I would pay for work already performed and pick my car up.Upon arrival of picking up my car and getting paper work noticed the technician notes stated needs new engine. The service advisor stated when tensioner broke the car jumped time and there are bent valves in engine and the engine now has no compression. I just wonder if I had approved the addtional work would I be out of $950 and still in need of a new engine in a car that is barely three years old. After speaking with a couple different mechanics who had never heard of this happening before and also checking the internet for possibly similar experiences (which I found none) I'm at my wits end. Our vehicle was taken in needing an intake hose and an oxygen sensor. We had them go ahead and change the oil, some headlights, and some lug nuts. Now the engine is ruined and they say they are not going oxygen sensor. We had them go ahead and change the oil, some headlights, and some lug nuts. Now the engine is ruined and they say they are not going to pay to fix it. More than likely they ran it without oil. First they lied and said our car was knocking when we brought it in. Since then we proved this to be a lie and they addmitted it started knocking after they worked on it, but still won't fix it. Check out the ohio attorney general site for Jake Sweeney Automotive before you use this business. They have 72 complaints in the last few years. They are very dishonest and will not do anything to make it right when they do bad work. They will lie to cover it up instead. More
My wife and I purchased two vehicles from this dealership. One, a Mazda 6, the other, a Nissan Murano. Both were used. Their sales folks did the usual write on the piece of paper and try to dealership. One, a Mazda 6, the other, a Nissan Murano. Both were used. Their sales folks did the usual write on the piece of paper and try to get you to sign because their "manager" wouldnt look at it any other way. Not long after we got the Mazda, we noticed a gash in the underside of the vehicle. A gash as in, through the underside up through the carpet and it was covered by the floor mat. It looked like someone used a can opener on this. I had hardly driven the car because me being out of the country, so it sat. When we approached the dealer about it, they denied it being there when it was sold. Although many body shops had estimated the rust and damage to be far beyond our purchase date and placed the damage a long time before. Next purchase, a year or so later, we bought a used Murano. The windshield wipers were slashed, the rear door handle rusted and busted and a even "claw" marks down the back door. My wife really wanted this model and it fit for our budget so when the dealership promised to fix the issues, we went for it. They put in writing they would repair those issues, still, to this day, 7-8 months later, they have not. We even had issues with their shuttle service stranding us miles away while our vehicles were being serviced. We stopped taking them there. The brakes, we noticed a month after having it, were squeeling very loudly. We had it inspected and were told because it was a new brake job, it was normal. Months went by and it got worse. We contacted the dealership only to be told that because the techs installed the brakes many months before, In Feb of 08, and now it being past the one year mark, they would not cover it, even though we owned it 7 months and only put 8k miles on it. We ended up buying another car from Jeff Wyler in Springfield and had an awesome experience there. Jake Sweeney will never receive our business again. Please, do not buy from these people. Do your research and see their service and reliability is not the greatest. Thank you. More
