I test drove a 2012 Mazda 2 Touring earlier this week, and loved it. After talking it over with my parents and doing some research online I found out it was literally a better deal than any dealer was of and loved it. After talking it over with my parents and doing some research online I found out it was literally a better deal than any dealer was offering in a 500 mile radius of my house and it was well under KBB.com's suggested retail price. Then I came to this website and read some very negative reviews. I am a young woman (24) and was afraid of getting treated unfairly or pressured. This morning I went to Jake Sweeney for another test drive and I'm now the happy owner of my Mazda 2. The whole experience was great! I worked with Paul and he was fun and kept things pressure-free and easy to understand. Every guy I came into contact with was super helpful. I even got the car for less than I thought I was. I can't speak for other reviewers on this site, but I had a great experience. If I hadn't gotten what I wanted, would my review be this positive.. probably not BUT that didn't happen, so I'm happy. I would totally buy another car from them. More
This place has lost all credibility with me. Was ready to purchase a car, but then sales rep turned shady. Had been having online chats / email exchanges about one of the cars (a new 2012). When finaliz to purchase a car, but then sales rep turned shady. Had been having online chats / email exchanges about one of the cars (a new 2012). When finalizing the purchase price, the price somehow increased from initial discussion. When I confronted the sales rep about this, I was told the price posted on the Internet included discounts that I didn't qualify for such as military, etc. i told the sales rep i found the exact same car at Kings Mazda for $2,000 less than his price. He told me it wasn't the same car. I had both tickets printed out and he was correct, the one at Kings Mazda had more stuff! Sales rep either thought he could take advantage because I am a female, or the dealership practices "bait and switch" advertising practices. Will never ever go there again. Not sure why they pulled this on a car nearly two years old that hadn't sold. I ended up purchasing the same car with same features they had from a Jeff Schmitt in Dayton. That dealership had a no haggle clearance price that was $3,000 less than Jake Sweeny price - and it came with extra services such as free oil change, one year of dent repair, one year key repair and much more. Too many options to settle with a lying dealership. Save yourself a headache and shop some where else. More
I got a car from the westside office and let me forewarn you to please please please never ever go there. I had my car 2 months and now I have a 4 yr loan for a car that's broke down 10 times after owning o you to please please please never ever go there. I had my car 2 months and now I have a 4 yr loan for a car that's broke down 10 times after owning only 2 months. Ive already spent over $2,000 in repairs and now need to put in $2,000 more. I was assured car had been inspected yet when I pointed out bald tires manager had admitted so many cars to deal with that mine had slipped thru unnoticed and unchecked after papers were signed. I went to Jody, the manager and he stated hed help me out, I sat in waiting area 2 1/2 hrs with no word and finally my old salesman came out reeking of alcohol saying sorry we cant do nothing after being promised by Jody he would. He wasn't even respectful enough to talk to me himself.I beg you stay away from these crooks. Go to another dealer like I did. They lost the sale of a brand new car I bought yesterday at $22,000. I wouldn't go back if they were last dealers on earth! Having 4 kids and a 1 income family, Jake Sweeney has put a lot of hurt towards my famiy, thet ought to be ashamed of how they do business. Im going to facebook, twitter, anywhere to warn people about Jake Sweeney! More
I drive a 2009 Mazda 3 and recently had a drive belt snap. The car was towed to Jake Sweeney Mazda in Sprindale.I was qouted a repair cost of $472 to replace two belts(air compressor and drive belt) and snap. The car was towed to Jake Sweeney Mazda in Sprindale.I was qouted a repair cost of $472 to replace two belts(air compressor and drive belt) and the drive belt tentioner. The dealership called me back and said the car still would not start after the installation of the new parts. The dealer requested approval for further diagnosis which I granted. The service advisor advised me it would cost an additional $450 in repairs to get car repaired because the belt had wrapped around the crank pulley and caused the engine to jump time. I informed the service advisor I could not afford the additional costs and I would pay for work already performed and pick my car up.Upon arrival of picking up my car and getting paper work noticed the technician notes stated needs new engine. The service advisor stated when tensioner broke the car jumped time and there are bent valves in engine and the engine now has no compression. I just wonder if I had approved the addtional work would I be out of $950 and still in need of a new engine in a car that is barely three years old. After speaking with a couple different mechanics who had never heard of this happening before and also checking the internet for possibly similar experiences (which I found none) I'm at my wits end. Our vehicle was taken in needing an intake hose and an oxygen sensor. We had them go ahead and change the oil, some headlights, and some lug nuts. Now the engine is ruined and they say they are not going oxygen sensor. We had them go ahead and change the oil, some headlights, and some lug nuts. Now the engine is ruined and they say they are not going to pay to fix it. More than likely they ran it without oil. First they lied and said our car was knocking when we brought it in. Since then we proved this to be a lie and they addmitted it started knocking after they worked on it, but still won't fix it. Check out the ohio attorney general site for Jake Sweeney Automotive before you use this business. They have 72 complaints in the last few years. They are very dishonest and will not do anything to make it right when they do bad work. They will lie to cover it up instead. More
My wife and I purchased two vehicles from this dealership. One, a Mazda 6, the other, a Nissan Murano. Both were used. Their sales folks did the usual write on the piece of paper and try to dealership. One, a Mazda 6, the other, a Nissan Murano. Both were used. Their sales folks did the usual write on the piece of paper and try to get you to sign because their "manager" wouldnt look at it any other way. Not long after we got the Mazda, we noticed a gash in the underside of the vehicle. A gash as in, through the underside up through the carpet and it was covered by the floor mat. It looked like someone used a can opener on this. I had hardly driven the car because me being out of the country, so it sat. When we approached the dealer about it, they denied it being there when it was sold. Although many body shops had estimated the rust and damage to be far beyond our purchase date and placed the damage a long time before. Next purchase, a year or so later, we bought a used Murano. The windshield wipers were slashed, the rear door handle rusted and busted and a even "claw" marks down the back door. My wife really wanted this model and it fit for our budget so when the dealership promised to fix the issues, we went for it. They put in writing they would repair those issues, still, to this day, 7-8 months later, they have not. We even had issues with their shuttle service stranding us miles away while our vehicles were being serviced. We stopped taking them there. The brakes, we noticed a month after having it, were squeeling very loudly. We had it inspected and were told because it was a new brake job, it was normal. Months went by and it got worse. We contacted the dealership only to be told that because the techs installed the brakes many months before, In Feb of 08, and now it being past the one year mark, they would not cover it, even though we owned it 7 months and only put 8k miles on it. We ended up buying another car from Jeff Wyler in Springfield and had an awesome experience there. Jake Sweeney will never receive our business again. Please, do not buy from these people. Do your research and see their service and reliability is not the greatest. Thank you. More
