Mike and Jim were a pleasure to work with. The They brought an oil leak to my attention I didn't know was even know about, and corrected the problem. Mike and Jim were a pleasure to work with. They even provided a loaner for me to use!!!! I would recommend this dealer to anyone who wants their vehicle repaired fast, and for a reasonable price!!!! More
When I first went to the dealership, they told me that I would be charged a diagnostic fee of $115 or around there to look at the car. If i didn't get it repaired i'd pay the fee. I had them check out an would be charged a diagnostic fee of $115 or around there to look at the car. If i didn't get it repaired i'd pay the fee. I had them check out an electrical problem, broken sunroof, and a recall. They found a leak in the transmission. To fix the hose they wanted to charge me $690 (rubber isn't covered under warranty). To fix the wiring connected under the driver and passenger seats was $670. To fix my sunroof, they quoted me $1700. I went to a mechanic down the street from them and he quoted me $300 to fix the wiring. $300!!!! Unfortunately, they amount of money that the dealer was already going to bill me regardless of getting it fixed (billed hours just checking the car), it would have been more to have them stop the work and then pay someone else to do it. From my understanding, I thought the dealer was just going to charge me a flat $115 (guess) fee to check out my car problems, but I was then called the next day when my car was finished stating that since they checked my sunroof and I didn't get that fixed, they were charging me a fee for that as well. When I complained, she stated that for the amount of issues I had them check, I would have paid $670+ just in diagnostic fees. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! ***BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE****** THEY DO NOT TELL YOU UPFRONT THAT YOU PAY A FEE PER ISSUE YOU HAVE THEM CHECK OUT. SHE HAD ME SIGN A DOCUMENT THAT LISTED ALL OF WHAT I NEEDED CHECKED, BUT IT WAS JUST ONE PIECE OF PAPER. WHEN I WAS DONE SIGNING, I HAD RECEIVED TWO. THE SECOND PAGE SHOWED COMPREHENSIVE ESTIMATE OF $670 (GIVE OR TAKE)!!! WHEN I SAW THAT I JUST FIGURED THAT'S WHAT THEY ESTIMATED THE REPAIR COSTS TO BE IF IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY. I BELIEVE THAT WAS THE DIAGNOSTIC FEES ALL ADDED UP. CHECK EVERYTHING AND QUESTION EVERYTHING!!!!!!!! Moral of the story is this: If you want your car fixed and you don't care if you get ripped off, go to Jaguar of Novi. If you want the job done, you don't want to be RIPPED OFF and missled, then go to a different mechanic. The other review is right on. I should have been wise and took what it said to heart. Going to the dealership was a mistake. DON'T FORGET THAT THIS IS ALL ON A LEASED CAR! I ONLY HAVE LESS THAN A YEAR LEFT ON IT! More
I brought the car in for brakes, starter, blown fuse and oil change. I explained to service rep the problems and was told that there would be a diagnostic charge--to check for further issues, but that this oil change. I explained to service rep the problems and was told that there would be a diagnostic charge--to check for further issues, but that this would be applied towards the cost of any repairs. Since I had already planned to have repairs done this was no problem and left the car to be repaired. Got a call later that afternoon saying that parts had to be ordered and would be available by the end of the week. By Friday afternoon still hadn't heard anything, so I called to check on the progress. Instead of calling me with an update I received an email with attached estimate. I have owned Jaguars for many years and am well aware of the higher costs involved, but when I saw the estimate I was shocked! $4,005 plus tax total! Brakes: $1400; starter $1800; Fuse $400, Oil change $80 and diagnostic charges of $325 (labor included). I had to wait until Monday to speak again with service rep. at which time I questioned the charges and asked why the diagnostic fee was not applied. I was told that the techs spent 3 hours tracing the source of the blown fuse, and various others tests on the starter. I told them I wanted to see documentation and would be in the next morning. When I arrived early the next morning I asked to see the bill and diagnostic reports. The Service rep. would not produce the document. I know this is because no tests were ever run and there were no additional issues besides what I told them was already in need of attention. I informed her that I didn't appreciate the treatment or being lied to about diagnostic fees and told her I would take my business elsewhere. Don't let dealers tell you that Jaguars cannot be serviced anywhere but the dealer! It is a blatant misrepresentation. I then took the car to a national service chain and received the following estimate for same OEM Jaguar parts: Starter: $300; brakes w/rotors $400; fuse $35 and no charge for diagnostic! The parts were ordered immediately and the car was finished by the end of the day. This dealer is not honest or competent. Apparently, the goal is to make up for slow sales by hosing Jaguar owners with exorbitant service charges, and inflated parts prices! More
