In full transparency I haven't bought a vehicle there, but my shopping experience has been terrible...that's what this review is based on. First, as at least one other reviewer has stated, it's extrem but my shopping experience has been terrible...that's what this review is based on. First, as at least one other reviewer has stated, it's extremely difficult to get through to a live person, and this is when I'm actually shopping for a vehicle. Across multiple calls, I got: disconnected after no one answered the phone; transferred to someone only to have the call drop; and bounced to voice mail. It took me 6 calls to get through to a live sales person. Second, they have a vehicle listed for sale as of TODAY (actually it's been listed for much longer but it's still showing as for sale as of this writing), but it turns out that vehicle ISN'T ACTUALLY FOR SALE. When I asked for an explanation, they said that it's a service loaner and won't be available to purchase for at least a couple of more months, but they list it because it WILL BE FOR SALE at a future date. Talk about shady practices! I understand that dealers are hurting for inventory and thus customers, but to falsely list a vehicle for sale just to get people coming in is an underhanded business practice in my book. This experience has made me not want to ever do business with this place, even if/when they do have a vehicle I want and can ACTUALLY buy. More
I leased a 2005 Jaguar XK8 convertible in February, 2005. Mr. Fields contacted me in June, 2006 notifying me that my lease would be up in August, and would I like to come in and discuss my options. I made Mr. Fields contacted me in June, 2006 notifying me that my lease would be up in August, and would I like to come in and discuss my options. I made an appointment for the next Saturday. Mr. Fields tried to persuade me to take out a lease on a new 2007. After considering this for a couple days, I called him back - left a voice mail- letting him know that I wanted to purchase the car I was leasing. Twice after that I called and left messages asking to be contacted to discuss financing. Mr. Fields never returned my phone calls. When my lease expired on August 24, 2006, my husband sent an Email to Mr. Fields, asking if they would like the car back. Mr. Fields sent a reply, with several bold-faced lies, including an imaginary conversation that he had had with me about some Customer Service agreement. I called him, naturally got his voice mail, left a message telling him that he could come pick up the car. FINALLY, Mr. Fields called back and told me to bring the car in because there was some paperwork to do. My husband and I dropped the car off last Saturday, and received the iciest reception since I grew up in Minnesota. Mr. Fields never once called me by name, and acted as if I was something he wanted to scrape off his shoe. He didn't even ask me for the "disposition fee" so he could get me out of there faster. If you want to lease - and continue leasing - brand new Jaguars, Mr. Simon Fields is your man. For anything else, I recommend staying far, far away from this Jaguar dealer. More
