Bought a used Porsche at "Hornburg Jaguar of Santa Monica". Several parts were missing and dealership promised to order the missing items on the same day. After complaining several times and being giv Monica". Several parts were missing and dealership promised to order the missing items on the same day. After complaining several times and being given the runaround for more than 4 weeks I finally received the items although separate Porsche dealers confirmed it would not take more than 5 days to obtain the missing parts. Especially the Internet sales manager Duane McCracken was very impolite and unprofessional in this whole matter telling me "he had better things to do than worrying about parts for a Porsche he sold weeks ago." It certainly appears to me that Duane McCracken will only provide the customer service expected from a luxury car dealership as long as he can earn a commission. After that you are on your own. On top of everything I can only advise everyone to be very thorough when looking at a used car at this dealership or even better have it evalued at an independent repair shop. Trust me it is worth the extra dollars. Within the first two weeks of owning the car I found out that I had/have to spend more than $2.000,00 in repairs and on broken items (door locks, convertible top, electric window switch, wind stop, remote keys, etc.) More
I found the service at Hornburg Jaguar absolutely incompetent and very over priced. They quoted me $2500 for work that I had done elsewhere for half the price. DO NOT GO TO THIS DEALERSHIP. Awful service - beyond belief considering the shocking hourly rates and the niche market they are serving. Took my XJR in to have a few things fixed and ended up waiting four days for someone to deal wit hourly rates and the niche market they are serving. Took my XJR in to have a few things fixed and ended up waiting four days for someone to deal with the car!! They are way under-staffed and slow to respond. They also tried to charge me for a part that they admitted not installing (windshield wiper controller of some sort)... $400 part. They also failed to cure wheel problem twice - they obviously do not take the cars out to detect problems I point out to them. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS, they are TERRIBLE. More
i took my LR3 into Hornburg to have it serviced and to have a sluggish problem fixed. the vehicle sat in the shop as they awaited software for the update for over a month. Mike, the service manager call have a sluggish problem fixed. the vehicle sat in the shop as they awaited software for the update for over a month. Mike, the service manager called me often and gave me the update to when the software would be avaiable. He had no definitive answers, as they were waiting day by day, but i appreciated being informed. They finally received the software and called to let me know my car was available. i returned the call which was rudely answered by a british girl (who put me on hold twice and then hung up on my twice before i took a "tone") They had asked me to get the car on friday, but due to work schedule i was unable to. (keep in mind they had also had my car for well over a month) I called friday and said i would return the loaner car either monday or early tuesday, which i did, and pick up my car. Upon leaving the dealership, Mike called me to let me know that they were going to have to charge me for the weekend (which they are closed) for the loaner car, and also for monday, due to me not returning the vehicle on friday. He also claimed he had left me a message indicating this, which is completely false. The only message received on friday was from a service guy named tom who let me know my car was ready. So not only are they attempting to charge me for the loaner for the one business day, they were open in not returning, they are doing it after having my vehicle for over a month, during which time i was extremely patient. My guess would be that due to the overwhelming number of problems they have with Rovers, it is their attempt to alienate as many customers as possible to be able to facilitate the number of repairs they are forced to do under warranty or recall...if you are to have work done, i would highly recommend using another service center. fortunately the santa monica Land Rover is open again...to top it off, prior to me leaving, they asked me if i would like to wait 20-25 minutes while they washed and cleaned up my car..pretty strange request if they were expecting me on friday.
