First off, Austin is the best salesman I’ve ever met. But it’s a shame the back office ruins that for him and our experience was horrid! A total nightmare in thanks to GM Rick Melendez. We shopped there and test drove a few vehicles a few days ago. My 8 1/2mo pregnant wife (very ready to pop) fell in love with a 2019 Mercedes GLC-300. Price was good. Had a dent in the fender that we were told they could take care of. We didn’t drive the vehicle we wanted to trade in but had pics and all info and vin# payoff and miles. (We live 2hrs away) we were told they would give at least $6000 trade, we agreed on a price and they would fix the dent. We went and did our own financing and got a blank check to pay for it. Came back yesterday and Mr Ricky “Rosè” Melendez decided they will not fix the dent, it is as is. That was the first thing that upset us. Then knowing we were upset, they offered to give us payoff on the trade ($6525) and about 10 minutes later comes over and retracts that offer and says he can only give us $5500 because he saw a spot that wasn’t seen the other day in the pics and yet wouldn’t deduct the price of the Mercedes due to the damage it has. Really unfair business practice after we had drove so far and now we have been misled twice. We were pretty upset. We figured we are here, the baby is due soon, might as well just shell out another $1000 for them being dishonest and move on. The finance guy then inquired how we plan to pay the difference (about $80) and it was directed in a way to assume we couldn’t afford it. We felt pretty profiled and the staff was extremely rude. We head back to financing and the finance guy that seemed very arrogant had filled our check out incorrectly. I told him he wasn’t authorized to fill that check out. He said he had been doing this for 14 years, he knows what he is doing. But then said if we want the car, we must sign the check (for the wrong amount) plus leave our $5000 down payment check signed and drive back with a new check the next day. All because of their mistake. We made the choice to walk and told them how dissatisfied we were with the countless mistakes and not one apology. Never once did they own their mistakes or make us feel welcome or even make us feel like we were being treated fairly.
