My Volvo has been service at Tom Wood by Matt for 14 years. I have never had to return a second time for the same problem. Matt has been kind, courteous and accomadating to my schedule. He is a great diagnostician and the service staff have been exemplary with keeping my vehicle maintained, safe and reliable. I will stay with Volvo because of the great atmosphere, mechanics, and Service Advisor at Tom Wood. More
Tom Wood Land Rover is the worst service I've ever seen. I did buy a land rover and I wanted to have them(tom wood) inspect the car before I make my final purchase. So, the service guy told me that we(service) should perform 150 points inspection which would cost me $150. I agreed to pay and have them check my car. At the end of that day the service guy told me that my car is in great condition and he will mail me the inspection sheet, then he gave me the green light to buy the car. As of to day, I did not receive the inspection sheet and I had to go back to the service for engine problem. When I asked for my inspection sheet. The service guy told me that he forgot to make one. I will never go back to this place again. More
We recently purchased a 2002 Volvo V70 XC in immaculate condition. Our salesman, Paul Bennett, was wonderful and made the process so much more pleasant than we expected. Thanks to him we had an enjoyable test drive, easy negotiating experience, and flawless receipt of the car. The sales manager (or whomever it is behind the curtain who makes the deal decisions) was flexible. The business manager (or whomever it is that does the sale paperwork) was friendly and helpful. Chad in parts/service even matched a price I found online for some accessories. We are very happy with the car and the experience. NOTE: I am giving an overall 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. #1, We visited the dealership twice before we purchased the car and both times we had to ask the receptionist for a salesman's help while several salesmen stood around watching us check out the car. Maybe there's a different process at Tom Wood than in other dealerships I've visited but I am used to salesman greeting potential customers who are clearly interested in purchasing a car. I interpreted this to mean that we didn't look moneyed enough to take seriously. #2, The first salesman (NOT Paul) who rode with us did not make us look forward to returning for another drive. Nothing awful, we just didn't click with him and expected a dreadful purchasing experience. Thankfully we met Paul and all was well. More
My experience with Tom Wood, and especially with Paul Bennett, was a great one. Car buying was actually a fun experience! Paul was very generous with his time and worked with me to make sure I got the ca Bennett, was a great one. Car buying was actually a fun experience! Paul was very generous with his time and worked with me to make sure I got the car I wanted and that was right for me. Cars are obviously expensive but I feel like I got a good and fair deal. I will definitely return to Tom Wood when it's time to buy my next car. More
I took my car (2005 Volvo V50) for 30,000 miles maintainance service. I asked to iniclude tire rotation, as front tires showed more wear than rear tires. The car also had a missing wheel nut, which maintainance service. I asked to iniclude tire rotation, as front tires showed more wear than rear tires. The car also had a missing wheel nut, which I forgot to mention to a manager but had no doubt they will find out and put a new nut on it during the tire and brake inspections. After the service charging about $300, the car was returned to me without tire rotation, still leaving the wheel nut missing. The manager explanined that front tires had more threads than rear tires, which I disagree and don't think he even looked at the tires. The manager also mentioned that leaving the wheel nut missing is a minor mistake. Finally, the inpsection report card he gave me showed "2004 S40" for the year and car model, which is not my car. What kind of servie quality is that? This poor quality of service is hard to find even at local cheap mechanic shops. More
There must have been some great changes since these old reviews were written years ago. My husband and I bought th XF her and were treated like gold. Yes, it was dexpensive but its a Jag XF, we got what we reviews were written years ago. My husband and I bought th XF her and were treated like gold. Yes, it was dexpensive but its a Jag XF, we got what we paid for, as expected. We did our research on-line and feel our price was very fair. Everyone was gracious and helpful. We even met the general manager who thanked us. Since we bought it we have been in for service several times and they are always kind and considerate. They helped me with a scratch and always btake care to keep it quite clean. They make me feel special as a Jaguar owner, again, just as expected. Thank you. More
I just returned from having my Volvo serviced -- oil change, tire rotation, light bulb replaced. After I dropped the vehicle off I received a call saying that they could not remove the left front whee change, tire rotation, light bulb replaced. After I dropped the vehicle off I received a call saying that they could not remove the left front wheel and if they continued that they would "break it". I told them that I did not want them to break it so don't rotate the tires. When I arrived to pick up my car, I found that I had been charged for their attempt to rotate my tires. I asked for the service manager and told him that they were the last ones to service my vehicle (which he informed me was 15,000 miles ago on the tire rotation)and basically acted as though there was no way that they could have tightened them too much when they did the work. I asked if it was normal for "corrosion" to occur (as he suggested) on Volvos and he said no. He did remove the charge for their "attempt". As I was leaving, I looked at the bill more closely and noticed that it said that they could not get three of the wheels off. When I asked Matt about that comment and told him again that they were the last ones to rotate the tires, under his breath he said "we don't know where that car has been since they serviced it" -- in other words, they we're telling me that I was lying. My car has 60,000 miles on it, was Volvo certified up to the 50,000 mark, and has been garaged and cared for. I won't ask these guys to do service work again - I'll find someone willing to take responsibility for their work and who will help me fix this without breaking it first. By the way, prior to this visit I had always been treated wonderfully and I told people about how great Volvo service was. I'm pretty disappointed. More
While having my Rover serviced the dealership orders my part and forgets to order fastening parts. They send me a post card stating to make an appointment for repair or they will send back the parts. I've part and forgets to order fastening parts. They send me a post card stating to make an appointment for repair or they will send back the parts. I've already waited the 2-3wk period to get the service and on top of that was pushed back because the had to re-order the right parts. Can you say Fed-Ex? While waiting my Rover was robbed of its radio and nothing was done by Tom Wood to help me. I'm still looking for the proper channels to complain. BBB is last on my list. More
I have had more problems with service on my S-type than I thought possible. Between waiting over three weeks to get an appointment and then having the car sit in the parking lot for two days before it ever thought possible. Between waiting over three weeks to get an appointment and then having the car sit in the parking lot for two days before it ever hits the lift and having the car in for brake rotor problems three times in two years I am fed up. How can a dealership that has five of the top makes of cars do such a poor job and keep the dealerships? Unfortunately my choices of luxury cars in Indy is limited to those not sold by these clowns. I bought a Volvo S60 from this dealer last summer. The sales person was great to work with, as was the financing person. The service staff doesn't seem very interested in you and makes you feel rushed.<br sales person was great to work with, as was the financing person. I wound up waiting almost an hour for their shuttle bus to take me 5 minutes away. When I picked my car up, it had not been vaccumed out, the windows hadn't been cleaned.........I paid $100+ for an oil change and they can't vacuum the car out?!?! I can go to Jiffy Lube and pay $29.99 and get the car cleaned out as part of the package. I asked the guy who brought my car around why it hadn't been cleaned. He went inside to ask and then told me if I would wait, they'd clean it. I asked him how long I'd have to wait, he said they were busy and it would probably be 1/2 an hour.

Not really the type of service I'd expect from a luxury car dealer. More
