It started with days after my purchase being forced to return, due to a brake sensor issue. It was registering that the brakes were worn, they assured me it was the sensor that was faulty, not the brakes themselves being worn. (You'll find out in a moment why that was probably a lie) This will be the first and last vehicle I buy from Land Rover Richmond (or any Hyman dealership for that matter). My opinion changed abruptly when less than a month after buying the vehicle (and maybe 2k miles driven) one of the doors began to squeak so badly that I had to blast the radio to maintain my sanity. After they agreed to fix it, upon calling me back the service department suggested that I get my tires replaced. I just bought the truck 30 days earlier and had barely driven it! (This is when I noticed 3 different types of tires were on the vehicle leading me to believe that they simply tossed on some scrap tires that got the vehicle to pass inspection) Then, there was a spot on the passenger side rear quarter panel that I could tell had been touched up with paint at some point, but it looked like a decent job was done---I was wrong and I stand here 4 months later with paint/clear coat coming off of a $50,000 vehicle. I've now put about 6K miles on the vehicle and upon taking it to a trusted friend that is a mechanic, brakes and rotors both need to be swapped out---already. Oh yeah, and one of those tires blew out while I was on Chippenham yesterday. Thanks, LR of Richmond for showing me that I should've paid the extra $2k and gone to Carmax or driven to a different LR dealer. In 2016, sketchy dealerships do still exist. This dealership is not owned by Land Rover, it's independently owned, something I found out after being contacted back my Land Rover corporate. More specifically, they couldn't force their hand to do anything other than reprimand them and make a "note" of my case. Their service department offered zero help and hid behind "you bought a used car as is". I won't be back ever and I would not recommend doing business here, as there are options in Chantilly and Virginia Beach that will suit your needs. I only wish I had done more research locally on their practices and avoid the headaches that have been created---I hope you can avoid them! More

I found one I was interested in on the Land Rover USA website at Land Rover of Richmond. I called Brian, the sales guy to discuss the car. When I asked why their car was priced 3-4 thousand more than any of the other 184 2012-2013 LR4s marketed nationally as certified by Land Rover, he explained the dealer recognizes they are priced far higher than anyone else but that it was their "philosophy" to let them sit for up to a year because eventually someone would pay it. Do yourselves a favor and shop around. If the "philosophy" is to rip your head off on the front end you can expect more of the same throughout the relationship. More

On Saturday we were very excited that there was one at the dealership. We called sent our financial statements shoeing we could purchase and offered to put a deposit to hold until we could get there Monday as we live 4 hours away. The salesman indicated that he could not take a deposit but to check on Monday AM to ensure it was still available. On Monday when the dealership opened we spoke to the salesman he said it was we advised we were on our way and to prep and have the vehicle read that we would be there around 1PM. We took a day off work got there and they said sorry there is a guy in the office buying it now. No concerns no worries that we drive 4 hours lost time from work etc. unbelievable lack of respect we were oaying the asking price to sell it out from under us is unbelievable. I would never recommend this place to anyone we have many friends and associates in Richmond and will ensure we let them know More

Thomas Hyman called me on Wednesday morning 5.22.13 about a 2010 Range Rover HSE Sport I had for sale, which he saw on the street in my neighborhood. He identified himself as a manager and son of the Land Rover dealership owner. He said they would like to purchase my vehicle-I told him it was originally purchased at their store and had also been serviced there if he wanted to check all the records. After several phone calls back and forth we negotiated from my asking price of $43k to his offered purchase price of $41,800. I said I would take his offer and would meet him at the dealership after I picked up the title-he said they would have a check for me that day. The reason for selling the vehicle was to settle the estate of my deceased younger brother for my nieces and nephew-to obtain the title required meeting w the estate executors, picking up the vehicle and having another person follow me to the dealership. Imagine my surprise and then later my anger, as on the way over there, Mr. Hyman called to say his boss/daddy someone would not let him make the deal and he withdrew his verbal contract to purchase. Unbelievable! I wasted a lot of my time and that of others trusting him on his word-the value of which turned out to be zero! Based on this experience, I would consult you to be very wary-Thomas Hyman and the Land Rover dealership both lack honor and professionalism-make sure you get everything written down if you think of dealing with them as clearly the word of the management and the owners have no real value that you can depend on. Hymans-Learn how to stand behind your commitments! I am so annoyed by this experience that I intend to tell everyone I know and meet about this experience via personal and business contacts and social media. More

I purchased my 2012 LR4 HSE/LUX about a year ago (from LR, Richmond) and was coming up to my service, I needed an inspection first and would only trust folks that deal with Rover OEM. I called to place th LR, Richmond) and was coming up to my service, I needed an inspection first and would only trust folks that deal with Rover OEM. I called to place the appointment and spoke with Khalid, he was the most pleasant service person I've ever dealt with in any auto service dept. Very quickly Khalid followed up with an e mail to confirm the date of my appointment. When I arrived, Khalid was just as pleasant in person, he (and others in the vicinity of the service area) had great responses to various questions I had about my vehicle, Khalid explained a great deal about the cost of services and the complimentary check up you should receive every 6 months, I had absolutely no idea of all this great information as it wasn't provided to me when I bought the car, (the purchase and sales experience wasn't nearly as informative!) Here I was thinking that the service was going to cost me an arm and a leg (literally, that's what the sales guy told me when I bought the car) and apparently the initial service with LR is complimentary! I was very pleasantly surprised, I received my first full service, state inspection from professionals I trust, and they had a great attitude. I was in and out within 2 hours for everything, (I also had some parts to order and wanted additional things looked at) but there is a comfortable waiting room with high speed access to you can work while you're waiting. Highly recommend Land Rover of Richmond Service Department! More
I have owned 5 Land Rover Discovery trucks since 1994, driving each as my primary vehicle, and requiring a high degree of availability/dependability. My LR trucks have always been dealer-serviced. The Di driving each as my primary vehicle, and requiring a high degree of availability/dependability. My LR trucks have always been dealer-serviced. The Discovery models (series I and II) exactly fit my needs as to configuration within its length. I also depend upon this truck to haul a 24' steam launch, which, with its tandem trailer grosses over 6,000# gross trailing weight. My current (and 2 previous) Discos have been exclusively serviced at LR Richmond, which, in my experience (having dealt with many dealer service organizations since 1969), continues to render the best service I have seen in the industry, for the following reasons: 1. Never a problem scheduling appointments, sometimes for urgent repairs. I live approximately 95 miles from LR Richmond and much of my time is committed to service as a volunteer EMT, so my options to postpone work are very limited. 2. Troubleshooting is a science and also at times an art, dependent upon technicians' training and experience. The technicians at LR Richmond are fully effective in correcting problems and, more importantly, in ANTICIPATING problems BEFORE conditions escalate to costly repairs and lengthy time out-of-service. 3. My high-mileage trucks are handled with a view to cost of materials, for which "fit" used parts are - on occasion - a realistic option. Good judgment here is essential to the quality of repairs, as I intend to continue the use of my '04 Disco for the indefinite future, notwithstanding 155k+ highway miles accumulated to date. The LR Richmond Service and Parts Departments work well as a team, to ensure a satisfactory result in every case. For these and other reasons, I have no reservations in stating that LR Richmond has the BEST service organization that I have ever seen in the industry. I believe that I am qualified to express this judgment, as I have had over thirty years as a manager in the transportation industry, including managment responsibility for maintenance of a significant fleet of motor vehicles, locomotives, and other equipment subject to high utilization and from which the highest degree of reliability is required.
