Great dealership with a wonderful selection We were looking to upgrade our Subaru Outback to a more luxury vehicle, so we chose to shop at the Land Rover in Bellevue due to its proximity to our We were looking to upgrade our Subaru Outback to a more luxury vehicle, so we chose to shop at the Land Rover in Bellevue due to its proximity to our home and the selection of vehicles we had. From our initial inquiry online, to the first phone call, to the final day we purchased a car was about 4 days total. I have a good friend who is in luxury car sales in Seattle, and she introduced me to Adam Gallardo, who helped make our experience very positive and memorable. We liked the smaller, intimate feel of the sales team and that the dealership had plenty of options, but was not overwhelming. We were initially set up with Michael Franzi who called us the day after we submitted an inquiry online. We did all of our test drives with him and narrowing down exactly what car we wanted that met our specifications. That was the fun part. The not so fun part was when it came to negotiating & signing final paperwork. I met with Michael on the first day I test drove and told him what we were comfortable with for a monthly payment & downpayment (that another Seattle area Land Rover dealer had already agreed to match) and he presented us with an initial plan that was well over $200/month above what we stated we were able to commit to. The next day, I brought my husband in, and he again presented us with the same top dollar monthly payment. We left and came back the next day (day 4 in the process). We asked him to provide transparency and details as to why the number was so high when another dealer had an identical vehicle and was quoting us much lower. The numbers weren't adding up. At this point, I had already spent 5+ hours of my weekend with Michael, and was disappointed that he was not able to give us a clear answer, especially when we had spoken with a competing dealership who was willing to do all of the legwork for us over the phone! Michael was able to get Adam Gallardo involved, who worked to lower the monthly payment to a level we were comfortable with (thank you Adam!). We signed the initial paperwork and went back to financing. Rachel was an absolute dream to work with. We loved how everything could be signed electronically and how thorough, yet efficient she was. She explained everything to us and we never once felt like she was forcing us to add something on that we didn't want. She was extremely personable too, so we really felt like we bonded with her during the financing process. The trouble was when we were early on in the paperwork, the date of sale Michael had entered was not the correct date - he had entered the day prior. We are so thankful Rachel caught this before we were too far into the paperwork. We then got to the last page (carbon copy paper), and the amount for our lease that we agreed to at Michael's desk was off by a few dollars. We weren't sure why it wasn't correct, and Rachel explained to us that it was due to the difference in tax rate (where we live vs. where we were buying the car). We are very thankful she explained this to us, but we were annoyed that this was another small careless mistake Michael made (he could've easily explained this to us before we went back to financing). Once we concluded the paperwork, we were asked how we were planning to pay for our down payment - cash or check. Well, Michael had told us we would be able to pay with a credit card so we did not come with our checkbook or cash for a downpayment. It was a Sunday and the banks were closed. At this point, we had been at the dealership for close to 6 HOURS on a Sunday (total over 11 hours on a weekend spent test driving and negotiating just with Michael). This was yet another mistake Michael made. We were really confused and honestly flabbergasted as to why someone would be able to sell us a luxury car that moves too fast and isn't able to pay attention to the small details, which is such a big part of a car sale. Michael is a genuinely nice guy, but we really felt like he missed the mark and were disappointed by that. There were details he could've paid attention to earlier in the sales process that would've made our final paperwork much more seamless. Luckily, Rachel and Adam were able to work with us to find a great solution and fix the problems. We are so thankful thank they left us with a lasting positive experience with Land Rover of Bellevue. We loved working with Rachel and Adam, but would not recommend buying or leasing a car with Michael. More
