The Sales Manager, Sonia, came to my home, looked at a car I was interested in trading in and never got back to me despite several calls. Extremely poor service. Will never purchase from again. More
Multiplicative, Rude, Unprofessional. Go somewhere else! First of all if you don’t have time to read the entire review let me tell you. DO NOT TRUST SALES MANAGER here at Volvo dealership. Kisco Volvo, Palisades Volvo or other in NYS or go to NJ and CT to get your Volvo. You do not have to take my words for it please read the reviews on google for Capital Volvo. All other Volvo Dealers have better customer service than Capital Volvo. If you got a good deal or experience there are two possible things either you are not very finance savvy(unaware of financial calculation of lease/finance etc) or you were very lucky which is very unlikely with this dealership. If you got time please go ahead read on… I do not like writing reviews but these people are so crooked that I had to make an exception. By nature I am consumer advocate and I feel like I need to expose Capital Volvo sales manager tactics so I can save other from falling into their trap. Don’t get me wrong there might be some good few people in other departments (such as service etc) but my experience with sales manager was terrible. My back ground is in finance so I understand basics of Leasing/Financing and I am also member of Edmunds.com (forum), that’s where I get my information regarding Selling Price, Money Factor, Residual, Incentives (including cash and rebates). So, before I walk into a dealership I do my own research and come up with an estimated payment using the information. My experience: I dealt with sales consultant Kevin he himself was a nice person doing his job, but sales manager was the one who try to pull one on me and was extremely rude. Based on my information and leasing calculation I knew where the payment should be (estimated). Sales consultant comes back with all the correct numbers (Money Factor, Residual, and Incentives) BUT SIGNIFICANTLY OVERBLOWN PAYMENT. Basically showing me correct numbers on one side which I already knew but very high payment on the other side. The math didn’t work. I know the high level leasing formula and I can check the numbers if they make sense or not. You may not get to exact penny using the formula because software could be bit different but you can get close enough within few dollars. My payments was overstated by about $200 a month x 24 months that’s $4800. At this point I wasn’t pissed off or anything. I was just simply trying to explain to Kevin sales consultant payment doesn’t make sense and I was helping him calculate it manually. As I was doing this Sales manager walks over on my shoulder and tells Kevin to show me the national leasing program and he stands there. I turn to him to explain that I am looking at your numbers on the paper all I am trying to do is calculate the payment by using the selling price, residual, incentives and money factor tax, fees etc. I should come close to your payment but I am not. It was a simple conversation negotiation but he started getting loud and telling me “you do not understand this. Even I don’t understand the formula. This is how Volvo does it”. I said “it really doesn’t matter how Volvo does it but conceptually math should make sense. There is selling price, residual, money factor, incentives, tax and fees so mathematically we should be able to calculate it”. He started getting loud and telling me “are you saying Volvo is wrong” and I repeated again, “all I am saying is that this payment does not make sense based on the numbers you have listed”. He told me rudely you can leave. The way he was behaving I knew at this point I caught him manipulating the numbers. This wasn’t a simple error. He could have dealt is professionally and could have told me “let me see and I will go back and recheck it” but NO instead he rudely told me to leave. I got up and told him ok I am done too and I will call Volvo and write a review online. I started walking out. He comes behind me and tells me “you are going to bash us because you do not understand”. I told him, I will make sure other people know about his and make an informed decision. You are acting like you are the only dealership in NYS but you are not. I walked out I was getting into the car and General Manager came out and asked me if I could talk to him so he could understand what happened. I told him “no I am done”. More

Happy customer for 15 years and counting I have been coming to capital Volvo for 15 years. I've bought cars, parts,had service work done, and have come to know almost every one at the dealers I have been coming to capital Volvo for 15 years. Replacement key I recently lost my entire bundle of keys, which included my car key. Thus I couldn't drive the car. The car is 18 years old and the keys had be to ord I recently lost my entire bundle of keys, which included my car key. Thus I couldn't drive the car. The car is 18 years old and the keys had be to ordered from California which I anticipated would take some time. Mr. Davis was able to bypass the red-tape and arrange for the replacement key to arrive the very next day. I have dealt with this dealership for over 15 years and they have never let me down. The service is always courteous and the atmosphere very pleasant. More

I searched Volvo dealer websites along my route and in my home city - in all, searched four cites in three states I'd be in on my trip. Found Capital website and was impressed by the accessory parts page - the most comprehensive of all I viewed. I went only slightly out of my way to visit and so glad I did. They didn't have the parts (carpet pieces) I needed, but ordered them and received them overnight. Perfect counter service and totally went out of their way to secure my business. Met the Parts Manager Kevin Davis when I picked parts up who was extremely helpful, way beyond just picking up my parts - had a couple other items I needed and he was extremely helpful. Only negative is they are 12 hours from my home....but when I'm in Albany next time.... More

THEY SOLD ME A PIECE OF JUNK I purchased a used vehicle here about a month ago. This is the 3rd time Ive had to bring it in to their "repair" shop for the SAME issue. They suppose I purchased a used vehicle here about a month ago. This is the 3rd time Ive had to bring it in to their "repair" shop for the SAME issue. They supposedly fixed this problem before the car was delivered to me. The brakes are toast. The salesperson, Kevin two met told me that the vehicle had all new brakes put on before I picked it up. There was definitely something going on with the left rear brakes. So today, Friday of Valentine's Day weekend I call them to get the issue fixed AGAIN and they tell me they can't fit me in until next TUESDAY. I have plans to go away this weekend and of course they don't have a loaner car available for me to use. The only positive thing I can say is that the gentleman that dropped me off and picked me up from work the last 2 times my car was in their shop was very nice and a pleasure to talk to. This is my first and LAST purchase from this dealership. What a joke. ****DONT BUY A USED CAR HERE**** ***UPDATE*** So about 10 minutes after I posted this review, they called me and miraculously had a loaner available. A brand new Volvo. Nice. They say they put new brake calipers on the right side (I told them it was left side giving me the problems) soooo once again I drive away hoping my car was fixed. Fast forward to April..I'm taking my fiancé away to Vermont for her birthday weekend and smoke starts billowing out of the left back brakes...Are you kidding me??? I have to pull into Monroe in Saratoga and RENT a car from enterprise to get the rest of the way to our destination. Monroe was AWESOME. I had to pay $600 to get my LEFT caliper, brakes, rotor and brake line replaced. Also, capital lux replaced my oil pan gasket and never put any radiator fluid in my car!!! It sucks that I had to pay for this and capital lux didn't fix the issue from the start but at least I know the problem is fixed and my car is safe to drive now. THANK YOU MONROE OF SARATOGA!!! So much for a 50 point inspection that this dealership claims to do on their used cars. More
