Went to the dealership to have the car inspected so I could renew the Easycare service contract. It took a little longer than expected but completed the task. Jaguars and Land Rovers are higher-end cars, and both the cars and their service are quite expensive. As such, a patron should be able to expect commensurate service. I bought a used Jag locally, and took it to JFL to have an oil change done and have the car looked over. First, I spent nearly a week trying to get an appointment scheduled. It is impossible to call in to the service advisers - you get an answering service, who attempts to call them, or claims to, and getting through doesn't happen. We are told they will call back. But that never happens. I have yet to receive any call back from this dealership, after probably 6 times being told that I would. I finally managed to get one woman on the phone who set up the appointment for me. Because the car was still under an extended warranty that they recognize, I got a loaner, so I could get back home. I was told by the assistant service manger that my car "definitely" would be ready the same day. But 4:00 and 5:00 came and went, and calls to the dealership? You guessed it. No way to reach anybody, and no call back. Unsuccessful. So at 6:00, I drove back there, expecting to pick up my car. I saw my original service adviser, whom I like, who was not there in the morning when I took my car in. He told me that my car wasn't ready, and if it had been, I would have received a call. Although I found that hard to believe, I went home. My car was ready the following day, at 6:00pm. So, to do an oil change, it took the dealership two entire days. And I have no idea why. Either I had an appointment (I did, on the morning of the first day), or I didn't. Considering the oil change was $340, and the service I received was really disappointing, I wouldn't recommend this dealership. If others have had a different experience, then I'm happy for them. But the way the machinery works here, I can't imagine how they could have. I own three cars, and all three are higher-end. And the other dealership I deal with, since one of my cars is two years old and under manufacturer's warranty, is 100 times more efficient, and far better communicators. And I've owned Mercedes and other very nice cars in my day, and the dealers I have taken my cars to are never this - what, disorganized? I don't even know what the issue was. Shortage of staff? Overbooking? I'm not unreasonable, and I don't only leave negative reviews. This dealership is, at the very least, disinterested and disorganized. Or, maybe it's worse. Maybe they just don't want to deal with customers, or have the right staff. I have no idea. More
