Above and beyond the call of duty.. My story started late afternoon Tuesday July 14. I had just stopped on the lot to quickly peruse the selection of pickup trucks. My interests were p My story started late afternoon Tuesday July 14. I had just stopped on the lot to quickly peruse the selection of pickup trucks. My interests were pretty specific and limited and I was just expecting to look a bit and see the ballpark prices. I didn't go inside, or even have interest in talking to a salesperson. Plus, it was very hot on the lot and I doubted anyone would even approach me--which was the case at a Chevy dealer the day before. To my somewhat surprise, Mike Miller made the trek onto the blazing asphalt to greet me and inquire my interests. I told him my specific requests, and he pretty much only had one vehicle that met my criteria. It was a recently traded vehicle which also happened to be the vey first one I looked at when I arrived alone. After some discussion, I agreed to a test drive. He deftly showed me a few of the newer control functions and then we took off on a generous test run. I liked the vehicle, but since I had just begun the search process, I was not ready to let them evaluate my current vehicle (2012 Escape--also from this dealer). I also had obligations later that evening I needed to leave for. I agreed to come by the next afternoon to let them check my vehicle and possibly do a finance inquiry. Upon arriving the next day at the agreed upon time, Mike got my keys and info and started the eval process. He informed me he was also working with some other folks simultaneously and asked if it was ok for his coworker Rich O'Donnell to continue to assist me. I agreed. Rich had obviously been in the car biz quite a while, and understood how to work with a person of my demeanor. We continued with the process all the way through delivery of my new/gently pre-owned truck. The process was running into early evening and both Mike and Rich stayed after their regular hours to help get my transaction completed that day. They were scheduled off the next day, and I would have waited till Friday to finish up, but they insisted they were happy to stay to wrap the deal. I negotiated the final details with Rich and the finance guy who was also most helpful and professional. If you would have told me at lunch Tuesday I would be driving a new vehicle by Wednesday evening, I would have been very doubtful. The experience was swift, pleasant, and beneficial to all parties I believe. Thanks for everything. Robert L. Edwardsville More
