As happy as I was with my salesman, I am miles beyond not happy with their service department. In fact, this may be the tipping point that will make me not buy Fords or Lincolns in the future. The rear liftgate will not open; it also will not completely close, which apparently is putting a drain on my battery. (I purchased a new battery less than 6 weeks ago, not realizing that this drain was most likely the cause.) My 2016 Lincoln MKX would not start this morning; I had to borrow my son's car (a Camry - totally reliable!). If my 2016 Lincoln MKX won't start on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday next week, or for the next few weeks, what will I do? (My son was off work today due to a reaction from the 2nd COVID vaccine.) Because, here's the kicker, they cannot see my vehicle for another 25 days. Also, apparently (per the service person I spoke with today at Jack Demmer Lincoln) there's not a way to manually close/open the liftgate, nor is that an avaible appointment for over 3 weeks. And, when I called Lincoln, they couldn't help me either. I spent hours looking up fixes online to no avail, although it's easy to see that this is a common problem with both the Lincoln MKX and the Ford Edge. So now I have both $ and time invested in this vehicle, but am still left in the cold (while the temps in Michigan are in the 80's). What am I to do? Shame on you Ford, Lincoln, and Jack Demmer Lincoln! Shame on you! (I would have given 0 stars, but unfortunately that was not an option!) More
