I was sent an email about a recall on my ram truck. I made an appointment and when I arrived I was told the recall had been completed in 2019 but, in fact, this was a new recall which did not appear. Normally I would have just been sent home but it turns out there was another pending recall regarding another issue. Everything seems to have been resolved appropriately but I still wonder why there was a second uncompleted recall. Additionally, virtually no one at the dealership, including my service advisor, was wearing a mask despite the mandate from the governor. More
I dropped my truck off for some recall work, they got me in and out with a loaner quickly. Cindy was the service advisor I worked with, I really appreciate that I got regular updates on the progress. JStar got my Ram 2500 in and out but.....I wonder This was my first service visit with JStar. I usually bring it to the dealership I bought it from in Costa mesa, but since I live In Yorba Linda; and This was my first service visit with JStar. I usually bring it to the dealership I bought it from in Costa mesa, but since I live In Yorba Linda; and we are all working from home, I figured I would give them a try. The Appointment process is pretty straight forward. if you do it via their website, you just need your VIN , Mileage and standard info, to get things going. Overall the online appointment process was easy. Since I had an early AM appointment, I pulled up, and was greeted by a friendly service advisor who promptly asked me to wait a moment while my service advisor attached to my appointment. Cindy plugged into my truck, confirmed my info, and went over what the services were for the day. Oil, Filters, tire rotation, change wipers, etc. I asked her how long the appointment would take, they said before lunchtime. I then asked if they could give me a ride back to my house, since i only lived a few miles away. After waiting about 15 minutes, I got a ride home. It was now lunchtime, so around 12pm I called to find out the status of my RAM. They said they were "Finishing Up" and asked if I needed a shuttle pickup. I told them yes, and confirmed my address. After waiting about 30 minutes, they called me back because their guy was making a parts run in the shuttle. So I got a ride from my neighbor instead. When I arrived, the truck was waiting in the service drive area. It was about 130pm by this point, so I walked in and Cindy met my near the Cashier. It was a little more than I wanted to pay, but the 45K service is sort of involved, and I just dont have the time to perform all those services in a timely manner. Overall, I would give them a "B" for service, because they really didnt go above and beyond to service my $70K truck. I also noticed my DEF tank was only half full, so it made me wonder if they actually looked at and completed the other services. Below is a list of things my other service dealer would have done without charging me extra. 1. Tire Rotation and check the tire pressure, I ended up with 75/72 in the front and 75/78 rear. 2. Wiper Blade replacement. they left one of the old blades on my wiper cowling. 3. Fill the DEF tank (that stuff is so cheap). did they change my oil ? did they check other fluids? who knows ? 4. Wash the darn Truck. hose the thing off at least. More
Working hard I have had some issues with my new Ram 1500, and the factory is involved trying to resolve them. I’ve always been very satisfied with your service department until this past visit. I came in for an oil change and was told 1 hour max so I waited and was there 2 1/2 hours. I would have dropped off department until this past visit. I came in for an oil change and was told 1 hour max so I waited and was there 2 1/2 hours. I would have dropped off if I was told up front it was going to take that long. The worst part was after waiting one hour I was told it would be done in 20 min. More
