He "explained" that doing our own maintenance would void any warranties, going so far as to say that the owner's manual explicitly states that service must be performed by ASE certified mechanics to keep the warranties in place. The manual actually clearly explains what records must be maintained when servicing the car yourself. Is it that difficult to be honest with customers? On the plus side, the car wasn't loaded up with the useless add-ons we had seen at other dealers, such as $399 paint protection and $463+ nitrofill for the tires. It did have a few add-ons that I would have purchased anyway, albeit at inflated prices. If you can avoid the high-pressure, dishonest finance person, it's probably one of the less-bad dealers. More
I looked at a new Mazda CX5 yesterday and decided I liked it, I called this morning and got an “out the door” price. I went to my bank to transfer the money then went to Butch Oustalet Mazda to make the purchase. When I got there the Sales Manager told me that the price I was given was incorrect. I was told this car didn’t qualify for the rebate because it had an automatic hatch gate. I explained to him that I received a price on THAT vehicle, he said he couldn’t honor it. He contacted the General Manager and he confirmed that they would not honor the deal. In my way of thinking, if you say you’re going to do something, you do it. No matter what!!! I will never purchase a vehicle for Butch Oustalet!!! More

I had watched the development of the new MX for a while and by the time the 2016’s hit the market, I had to have one. When the sale-rep called and said they had come in, I came immediately…ready to buy. A test drive only proved that I was set. I retired back in February, closing a family retail business of 98 years, the last 45 operated by me. Greeting the public, selling to the public is an art form, I’m convinced. The sales rep was nice and the finance manager was very helpful. The MX-5 in red is a show stopper, people constantly ask me where I got it and then, naturally they ask what kind of deal did I get? That’s when I tell them that in all my years of buying a vehicle, this was the worst deal ever. I enjoy the MX-5, it’s fun, the grandkids love for me to take them for a ride but I must tell you that I can’t get the deal out of my mind. I was expecting at least a token discount off the sticker and yet, the dealership added $1000 to it. I know I had the option to leave. I know that it was a new model. I know…… My wife says sell it, she was tired of hearing about it. Whenever one of their commercials come on tv about the best deal, well I guess it was not for me. I’m embarrassed that I let my desire outrun my common sense. I would suggest that they at least put that “extra charge” on the sticker under something else other than “Market Demand” which really means….we are adding that just because we can. At least it might not haunt someone like me if it’s hidden somewhere! I ask, why should I go back to do more business with them? More
