I purchased a new Tundra 4-years ago from Irwin Toyota located in Laconia, NH and I purchased a extended warranty for this vehicle when I bought it. I will buy a new Tundra in a couple years and I will not think twice which dealer to go to. More
I had the interior of my Tundra detailed by Irwin on Jan 29. The truck is 2 years old and was way overdue for a cleaning. It had never been done. They did a 5 star job. Just like showroom condition. Steve F. provided me with an exceptional purchase price for a new 2019 Toyota Highlander. The lease purchase price was $2,000 higher due to Toyota incentives, which I was aware of. I spoke with and emailed Louisa a couple of weeks later about my interest to get into a lease, asking questions before being informed the best way to determine the deal and capitalize on the Vehicle Exchange Program was to come in for a visit with my Highlander. One of the details/features of the program was higher than average trade-in values. The next day, I made the 3 hour, one-way drive because I ran some basic numbers after researching the value of my vehicle and it was feasible a reasonable deal could be made. Once there, the vehicle I was interested in had my name on a tag hanging from the rearview mirror and was ready for the test drive. I met with the finance manager and I was assigned to Mark, who was very laid back and easy to speak with. We went for a test drive and returned, completing paperwork to move forward with the beginning of negotiations for a trade in value and lease option for the new Highlander. After about an hour wait, Mark returned and provided me with trade in numbers that were below any listed "poor" trade in valuation, (kbb, edmunds, nada, etc.) that I researched and had on hand for comparison. Mark informed me they double checked the low ball offer and said it was due to current market values. The value was more in-line with auction value purchases for dealers. I was trading a 2018 Highlander limited with 15,000 miles in near perfect condition and I was offered less than "poor" condition trade in value. I quickly determined this was not worth my time and my 6 hour drive was a waste of time. I thanked Mark for his time and did not bother attempting to negotiate because it was clear the Vehicle Exchange Program was another ploy to get more potential customers in the door. I understand the vehicle market and conducted considerable research on the my vehicle and the vehicle of interest, and I even consulted with other dealerships and friends in the car sales business at other Toyota dealerships to determine the trip was likely worth it, but we were all duped. It was clear the Irwin finance department did not want my vehicle and offered such a low value to send me on my way. Irwin Toyota proved to me they were an ordinary dealership and their special programs are empty advertisements designed to get you in the door. I was hoping they were a cut above others but that thought was shattered. More

Nice people at first Purchased a used vehicle from Irwins about a month ago. The vehicle was posted for $6,711 (NADA in clean retail was $8,300) and was sitting in the lot Purchased a used vehicle from Irwins about a month ago. The vehicle was posted for $6,711 (NADA in clean retail was $8,300) and was sitting in the lot, so I figured it was a great deal. I went out to look at it, and met Mark. I took the vehicle for a test drive, and everything worked fine on the 6-7 mile drive I took it on, minus a small vibration in the drive-train somewhere at highway speeds. I brought the vehicle back and he said he will have it brought in the shop in a few days to have a tech look at it, and I was fine with that. A few days went buy, and I was notified that it would need about $1,500 worth of work, (everything being fixed would have put the vehicle a little over NADA), but I was totally okay with that. Once the work was complete, I was told the vehicle was ready and that it is now $9,561 + $630... meanwhile the car was still listed for sale on the website at $6,711... how does $1,500+ $626 turn into over TEN THOUSAND DOLLARS? I was told that I should have printed the price out that showed it being $6,711 after the work was completed and get them for false advertising, but I'm not that kind of person... however I probably should have listened. Long story short, I got the vehicle for $8,400 out the door, the vibration that was ALREADY THERE during the test drive got worse after being on the highway for a longer period of time, and they blamed it on me taking the vehicle off road (our property is a dirt driveway). I had another shop look at it and it was discovered that the tires on the car are not even rated for the weight of the vehicle, and they are the incorrect size and was told that could be where the vibration is coming from, but who knows. End of the story is that I was sold a car that shouldn't have passed inspection for a little bit more than it was worth. Like any dealership, do your homework. Mark is a really nice guy and I understand there has to be a profit margin, but don't send a car out the door that has a problem still and blame it on taking it off road when it was already there during the test drive. More
