They did not do a state inspection and my front Winfield still has a film on it. I wanted 90 min for a job that should have taken the max of 30 minutes still has a film on it. I wanted 90 min for a job that should have taken the max of 30 minutes More
Honestly, my purchase experience was not a pleasant one. In fact it was the worst experience I have ever had buying a car. I came in knowing exactly what car I wanted and was clear about it, I wanted RAV4 Hybrid with $10,000 to put down and my bank ready to finance the rest and they did not care what I wanted. They continued to try and push me towards a different car and to finance in house and to include as much F & I add ons as possible. This is common with car dealerships and you should look into ResistAll 360, Ikon Connected Car Technologies, and all Toyota service agreements before you go there because the sales pitch isn’t honest or thorough and you need to know for yourself if any of these are worth it to you before you walk in the door. I continued to insist on financing with my bank rather than with them, they refused. Yes, a car dealership can refuse to accept outside financing and may insist that you finance through their preferred lenders. This practice has become more common, especially due to the current shortage of vehicles, which gives dealers more leverage in negotiations. They know most car buyers don't take time to research financing options so they are likely to pass hidden fees into the car loan. They did everything they could to take advantage of me. I ended up getting an 8.29% interest rate (my bank was offering me a much lower rate) on an in-house loan I didn’t want. They told me I am not allowed to refinance until after three months which is not true. They spent so much time pushing me into financing with them that we didn’t really get to go over the service package but told me I could look over it and cancel anything I didn’t want in 30 days after I looked over them. When I tried to do that the next day they were not helpful. It is possible to cancel the Toyota service package but the ResistAll 360, Ikon Connected Car Technologies, and any other add ons offered by the dealership are not able to be cancelled. When I spoke with their sales representative on the phone the next day they referred me to a third party website group1auto.com This would take 4-6 weeks to process and requires contract numbers that the ToyotaCare Plus and Service Agreement contracts had on them but the Tire and wheel protection plan did not have on it. I was then referred to another representative who told me that they had the information uploaded for tire and wheel protection agreement but not the other service agreement contract and that it was “normal“ for them not to show up for 4-6 weeks. This was not Toyota however but another third party, Safe Guard International. They told me they canceled all of the service agreements and sent me email confirmation but that was not true. I was able to get this resolved and quickly once I was actually able to get in touch with Toyota Financial Services but I had to find them on my own. Once I was actually able to talk to Toyota Financial Services it turns out that the third party only canceled the tire service agreement and then made a duplicate ToyotaCare agreement (maybe to keep the sale price the same for 30 days until the salesman got his commission? I don’t actually know that’s speculation on my part)Toyota Financial Services was able to cancel all of the service agreements and I refinanced with my bank right away with a 6.08% interest rate. I know what they tried to do isn’t right, I canceled everything and refinanced in a week and they lost a customer for life because I will never service my vehicle there. I would not recommend going there but if you do know exactly what you want, research everything they offer beforehand, know you will get a high pressure pitch. If you do finance with them you are not obligated to keep that arrangement for any length of time. They care more about their commission than you. Car salespeople have a reputation for a reason. More
