I went to Ira because my daughter has had great experiences working with Ira Honda. For the plug-in Toyota Rav 4 I wanted, salesman Ethan Mosher at Ira Toyota was great— not arrogant nor aggressive experiences working with Ira Honda. For the plug-in Toyota Rav 4 I wanted, salesman Ethan Mosher at Ira Toyota was great— not arrogant nor aggressive, he was highly motivated and diligent in working to get it right for the car I wanted. He is smart, upbeat, trustworthy, kind, a great listener, eager to learn, a good communicator. It was a fun experience, a real pleasure working with him. I will definitely recommend him to my friends and family for a car purchase. The sales manager Joseph (forgot last name) was also very helpful and seemed to get it that this sale was taking way too long, including too much wait time at the dealership, so he moved things along. In general, the folks at Ira were slow in getting my car to me transferred from Massachusetts, then cleared for me to look at. Ira seems to be a somewhat disorganized system. Also, I asked and was told from before looking at the pre-owned car that there was a 30-day or 1,000 mile warrantee on it as I had expected, since it no longer had its original warrantee. My husband and I only learned from the Finance Dept. that this so-called warrantee is only on the Maine inspection—this is very disingenuous of Ira, and we felt we’d been duped. Bob in Finance was friendly and clear in presenting his schtick about extended warrantees (too expensive for us), but another fellow who came in to talk about the warrantee was aggressive, rude and arrogant. This warrantee issue and Ira’s disorganization noted above made us wonder if we can trust Saco’s Ira Toyota for dependable, timely and affordable service, and whether we should follow-through on this pirchase. Although we did get a good deal on the purchase price and trade-in Despite leaving with this negative impression, I loved the car, and after getting our bank loan, we returned. The following day went great and smooth, with the car then fully charged thanks to Joseph so we could check out all the systems (which we had to do before purchasing since there was no warrantee once we left), Ethan our salesman was positive as always, knowledgeable and helpful, encouraging us in a calm and unrushed way to check all systems. Joseph found the second key we needed that we had been told the day before would cost us $300 and did not already exist. We bought the car. We love this car, and applaud Toyota for making it. For me and many of my friends, we care about the Earth and minimizing our impact on climate change. When our 15 year old Honda CRV was ready to be replaced, I looked for a plug-in hybrid to do my part. It really is a wonderful solution, especially since our home electricity comes from subscribing to a community solar farm, so we can run this car on solar for the first 40 miles each day. This car is so beautifully designed and gives an awesome driving experience with its smooth and quiet ride, great handling an pickup, and instant feedback for going electric. We look forward to getting to know all the features, and many more years of trouble-free driving like we used to get in our Honda’s, and also get in our Toyota Tacoma. Thank you Toyota! I was surprised not to see any sign or advertising in the dealership that using electricity to drive is so much better for the Earth than gas. You are really missing the boat in not highlighting this in some way, and in training all your people in sales how a plug-in hybrid works and its incredible benefits. As you know, the emissions of gas engines is a prime cause of climate change, and I feel your responsibility as a gas engine seller is to educate the public about hybrids and plug-in’s, a great market for you, with these cars hard yo find. Please, if you make more plug-in’s you will sell more plug-in’s, a super great innovation. Thank you again for my Rav 4, a true joy in my life, and for wonderful folks like salesman Bob Mosher and Sales Manager Joseph for whom we are ever grateful. More
