In fact, I was on my way to the nearby Toyota dealership when my wife suggested we just take a quick look at Hondas. I needed a vehicle that had enough power to tow a 2800 pound camper and carry luggage back and forth to Florida twice a year. I figured a Toyota 4Runner could do this but knew nothing about the Honda vehicles. We were greeted at the door by a salesman named, Dave Clifford. It was obvious right from the start that Dave was new at the job. He was a bit awkward and understandably nervous. However, this I thought was rather endearing (and disarming) and it became very clear early on that he was a genuinely decent man. And, as our negotiations proceded, it also became clear that he was incredibly hard-working and doing his best to learn his job while doing whatever was in his power to make my experience less painful... yeah, I really do hate dealing with car salesmen! lol I told him what I was looking for. He suggested the Honda Pilot. As soon as I saw the Honda Pilot EX/EXL crossovers, I felt I may have found the perfect vehicle. It had adequate power to tow the camper, enough storage space for luggage (once I took out the third row seats!) and a very simple yet stylish exterior appearance. I especially liked the large tires, very comfortable driver seat and wide profile for added stability. Everything looked promising but I still needed to test drive the vehicle and negotiate a final price. Dave didn't spend too much time in his chair. He was way too busy running back and forth to his manager, the loan officer and the food area (to bring me more and more of those delicious chocolate chip cookies). I believe if I had asked him to give me a pint of his blood, he'd try to accommodate! From what I gather, Dave has been a hard worker all his life. Much of that work had been outdoors in no so pleasant conditions. Now, in his mid-40s, he was given an opportunity to work at Prime Honda. Obviosly, the management saw the same admirable qualities as I had. Dave appreciates this opportunity and shows it by "going the extra mile" to please both customers and his employer. I have to say that I don't ever recall anyone putting in such an impressive effort to both learn his job and treat customers fairly. I can also say that I'm super pleased with my new Honda Pilot and look forward to more Honda vehicle purchases over the years. And, I sure hope to see Dave Clifford there when I do! I might also add that the finance officer, Mike (forgot his last name) was also pleasant and did a great job explaining my financing options. More

My husband and I had a very bad experience with Berlin City Honda before coming to Prime Honda. The sales person (Edward) was underhanded and dishonest in his dealings with us. I went to Prime Honda in Saco to have my 2006 CR-V serviced (I thought the transmission might be on its way out), and because the cost of replacing the transmission far exceeded what I was willing to serviced (I thought the transmission might be on its way out), and because the cost of replacing the transmission far exceeded what I was willing to pay, I decided to take a look at another Honda and get an idea of what I could buy. Allen came over to the service area and said he could help me out. I wasn't really prepared to buy another car, most certainly not a new one, and if I had been, I would have done a lot of research to figure out which one was the best. So Allen sat down with me and asked me a few questions, like what I was driving now, what I was looking for, etc. I told him I really loved my CR-V, and although I'd be willing to buy a newer model, I really didn't want to buy new at this point. He then told me about a 2006 CR-V they had in stock, with low miles that was in great condition, and had a few extra options that mine didn't have. I took it out for a test drive, and I debated whether to buy it or not. Allen was very professional and did not pressure me into buying a new vehicle. He listened to what my current financial situation is and gave me the best deal I could possibly want. I have a warranty on the car, which, on my vehicle had expired long ago. I still can't believe I went to have my car serviced early in the afternoon and drove home in a 'new' car later that same afternoon, very satisfied. If you're in the market for a new (or used) car, I would recommend going to Prime Honda in Saco, and I would highly recommend requesting Allen Berube as your salesperson. Thanks Allen! More
