Think I'll Try Somewhere Else I have purchased 2 cars from this dealer, and my family has purchased several more. Every time I leave this dealership I feel like I have been screwed I have purchased 2 cars from this dealer, and my family has purchased several more. Every time I leave this dealership I feel like I have been screwed, so i don't think I'll be going back. In my recent experience with them, i selected a couple of cars I wanted to test drive and was able to do so, which was fine, and then came time to sit down and discuss price. I had a rough idea of what my trade in was worth via KBB and I knew that this dealer will not budge on the internet prices of their vehicles from past experience with them, so any negotiating would come via the trade in. Well, my trade was appraised and an offer came back which was way low, and maybe I'm just too honest. My assessment of my trade was in the "Good" shape category on KBB. When they came back with their offer i started to think maybe I was overestimating the cars value (i had never put brakes in it in six years of ownership, and I drive 200 miles a week... and was feeling like it could need a serpentine belt replacement soon), so I lowered my expectation for what I would get for a trade. Long story short, I made the deal for the new (used) car. I got a bit more than they offered me initially for the trade. A week or two after the sale I was perusing their advertisement in the Sunday paper, and there in their $10,000 or under section was my old car...for sale for $9300.00. I was given $4500 for the trade. I hope they did some serious maintenance to the car beyond a new set of tires and new wipers before they put it on the lot, but that's not my point. Car salesmen, like it or not have a reputation for being sleazy. It is exactly this kind of thing that perpetuates this reputation and makes car buying, at least for me, an unpleasant experience. I'd rather have a root canal with no novacain while having a colonoscopy at the same time. So My take-away from this experience is that from now on I will definitely over-estimate the worth of my trade in, even if I know there are underlying issues, and stand firm on my price. Another couple of things of note. This dealer touts their "Imperial Trade Assistance Bonus" for cars newer than 2010, which my trade was, as an additional $1000 toward the trade, at least that's how i understood it, and when running numbers before making an offer on the car, i factored that $1000 in. When the offer sheet came back from the sales manager, there in big bold numbers was the amount of $1000 added to the price of the car and them $1000 subtracted...What?...When I asked the salesperson about this, I was given some sort of confusing salesperson-speek double-talk, which I am sure they are trained to spew when questioned about the "Trade Assistance Bonus" (I'm doing air quotes right now...). In other words the Trade Assistance Bonus is a fairy-tale. I probably should have gotten up and walked away at that point, but wanted to get the chore of having to buy a new car over with, so eventually I agreed to purchase the car, which let to much high-fiving, hooting and hollerin' between the sales manager and the sales person...I didn't sense they were glad for me, but rather glad for themselves that they had bagged another pigeon. If they were glad for me a simple handshake and "We wish you luck with your new car, we're sure you'll be happy with it..."would have been a better touch. The last issue I have is with the finance guy, who started off telling me that I was wrong about my credit score, which I am sure I am not because I check it frequently. At that point I just wanted the whole mess to be over-with. We haggled a bit on extended warranties, and even at the end of that discussion he still didn't get the cost to me correct on the final paperwork, (he was a few dollars higher than we agreed) but again I had had enough with this bunch. There is no need for people who need to purchase a car to be treated this way or feel they have to be on the lookout at every step of the deal to avoid getting a screwing. Two stars for the review for the sales people I dealt with. It's two stars because if not for them it would be a no star review. I don't fault them, both were young people and likely were acting as they had been trained. Think I'll try somewhere else when the time comes next. More

I found out last Friday that it was time for a new vehicle. I wasn’t expecting that news at all and immediately stressed out. The first call made was to Lou at Imperial. Just a few hours later he emailed me about 6 different cars. All of them exactly in the budget I had and mileage I was looking for etc. The very next day I met with Ali. He’s amazing showed me a car that I fell in love with immediately! Had me driving home in it within just a few hours! Thank you so much Imperial Ford!!! More

I live 5 minutes from Imperial Ford and over the years I have tried many times to purchase a car there and it never ended well. Well we tried again when my husband needed a new pickup for work. Our salesman was Mike Potenza and he couldn't have made it any easier. He was not pushy, very professional and just plain likable. We picked up the truck today and I still cannot believe what a pleasant experience it was. Mike was wonderful as was the finance guy and the sales manager. We love our new truck and I will definitely be going back there for our next car. I have to repeat what a pleasure Mike Potenza was to deal with as were all the staff that we dealt with.
