Taken to the cleaners. My Maxima would not start. Had it towed to the dealer, I suspected the programming of the key, " Imobilizer ". It turned out that's is what it was. In the beginning they wanted to replace the battery, said it wouldn't hold a charge. I have NEVER had a battery problem with this car. I insisted they charge it over night and guess what, It worked. That saved me $135. They also said that the key was "stuck" in the ignition and had to use a graphite lube to free up the key. Why all of a sudden did these two things happen while it was at their shop? I had a long conversation with Gary about how I felt about dealer maintenance. Seems like sometimes they just throw parts at it until it's fixed. They tried to program the old key, didn't work. Cut and programmed a new key, didn't work. Okay, so let's try the imobilizer. After taking 2 days to get the part from Chicago they finally got it changed and it worked at the tune of over $500. Would the old key have worked after the imobilizer was changed?, maybe. Would that have saved me money?, yes it could have. Most people out there will think that's not too bad, but coming from a guy that does "most" of my own maintenance I have a hard time trusting others that are in the business of making money off of others. All in all the car is fixed. Why didn't it do this myself you may ask, I am out of state and it was my boys car. If I was there I would have bypassed the whole system for a whole lot less $$$. And another thing, Gary NEVER called me like he said he would until the car was done. I had to call to get updates every day. More

Service department Once again, the service department at Illini Nissan went above and beyond to help my car situation. The "Low Tire Pressure " light was on so I called Once again, the service department at Illini Nissan went above and beyond to help my car situation. The "Low Tire Pressure " light was on so I called Gary McCaskill at the service department and brought the car in. Gary greeted me with a smile and took my car in right away for what I thought was simply low air in the tires. Turns out there was a nail causing the leak! Gary had it repaired while I was waiting and I was back on the road immediately. Thanks again Gary for getting me in quickly and your exceptional service!! More

While unpacking the Nissan Altima, I noticed a Black support piece was hanging under the car. I found Illini Nissan on-line and called them. Cody Wieber said he could look at it. I brought it in and he said it needed a bracket. He replaced the broken bracket. We thought we would be in Champaign all day waiting for the repair, but the repair was completed within 10 minutes. Professional, Courtesy, and Friendiness Gary McCaskill is the Service Advisor that has been greeting and waiting on me since my arrival in 2010, He is very professional, courteous and always Gary McCaskill is the Service Advisor that has been greeting and waiting on me since my arrival in 2010, He is very professional, courteous and always friendly. My car is never worked on by any other dealership regarding of the problem. I have never had to wait more than 2-3 minutes before I was service, not matter what the traffic of business at the time of my arrival. Of course, I am not favored, it is merely a process of knowing your business and ORGANIZATION of the workload. There is a mechanic will the dealership that has always changed the oil in my car since my arrival, I don't know his name at present, but I do know him upon seeing him. There is never a hassle with any of the employees that I have encounter and I really enjoy that. The service staff always goes the extra step to ensure that I and other of pleased with the service and you know the situation with your vehicle while you are there. As long as I am in Champaign, IL, I will always carry my car to Illini Nissan for service repair, which by the way includes airing of the tires. In my opinion there is nothing like procedures and organization with a company. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK, ILLINI NISSAN. Your organization have my support 100%, that you can take to the bank. More
