After a week of driving it, The "the check engine light" went on. I took it to the shop and got a diagnosis of "deteriorating IMA batteries". I contacted John and informed him of my bad experience. Even though I bought the car "as is", the dealership offered to purchase back my car at exact same price that I paid for it (if I buy another car from their inventory). I got another pre-owned one (regular gas-powered car); and perfectly happy with it. The auto trade-in/purchase process was relatively painless.
