Dear valued customer, Please call me to discuss this at your convenience. We, as a franchised dealership are held to a very high standard especially when it relates to safety for our customer. It is not recommended by the tire manufacturer or the vehicle manufacturer to plug tires. The possibility of that type of repair failing and causing a blow-out is too high. Instead, we use a patch that is a permanent repair if its properly done. The sidewall including the "flex" area near the sidewall will not permanently hold a patch. That's why your local tire shop used a plug. I'm sorry we could only offer the tire replacement solution under these circumstances but again, Safety first is our firm commitment.
