Patrick sold me certified car with sludge in the engine I purchased certified used vehicle from Patrick Hyundai in 2/11/15 with extended warranty. recently I took the vehicle to service with engine knocking I purchased certified used vehicle from Patrick Hyundai in 2/11/15 with extended warranty. recently I took the vehicle to service with engine knocking issues. I was advised that vehicle had a previous history of sludge in the engine, that discovery occurred under previous ownership and before the certification of the vehicle. As a result neither factory warranty or the extended warranty is willing to cover the cost of repair, base on the issue being pre-existing condition. In addition warranty costing me $2.000.00 was terminated. The dealership suggested trading of the vehicle, quoting this car worth at $11,000.00, which would be approximately 6800.00 loss including the useless extended warranty I purchased. I was trying to convince dealership to void this transaction as the car is only in my possession since February 2015, and its condition was falsely documented before certification issued by Patrick Hyundai. Dealer advised (Christian-general sales manager) that it is impossible, however after I threatened to file complaint with Illinois Attorney Generals Office he advised that he will call the owner and discuss the issue. I feel that I was pushed into fraudulent transaction, where someones negligence and wrong assessment of the vehicle is costing me loss of working vehicle and additional loss in value of it. I filed complaint with the Office of Illinois Attorney General to intervene on my behalf. This vehicle was never supposed be certified and advertised as such. More
