Was told through calls and text messages that a deal can be made with rough numbers being stated. Once I arrived, wasted 45 minutes for numbers that were 4 times higher than stated. Purchased a 2025 Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition from a young, very well trained sales lady Chelly Guerrero who is articulate, patient, and methodical. Wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money and trade a young, very well trained sales lady Chelly Guerrero who is articulate, patient, and methodical. Wasn't sure I wanted to spend the money and trade in my 23 Telluride, but after having several bad experiences with Kia dealerships, Chelly's patience withstood my procrastination. This dealership was aggressive in their close-out pricing on the 2024 models, but I wanted a clear understanding of the amount I was spending as sometimes trade-in values and dealership math gets confusing and misleading. I agree with others who've stated that the Leader Discount is meaningless. Unless you're going to use their financing, the discount is just to get you in the door. The saleswoman who I interacted wit Discount is meaningless. Unless you're going to use their financing, the discount is just to get you in the door. The saleswoman who I interacted with was nice enough (Kathy). She told me that the vehicle I was interested in purchasing would be arriving at the end of the week and we agreed on price, including the "Leader Discount". But as soon as we started talking about my trade-in and my financing (I had my own financing), things went immediately downhill. First, they offered me over $2,000 LESS than KBB trade-in value for my trade. When I declined that offer, she stepped away and returned with her manager who outright lied to me - telling me he was unsure when the vehicle would arrive and could be arriving late next month or even later than that. Using an inventory tracker, I could see that it actually did show up when the saleswoman originally said it would. After he walked away, she said that she would work on finding the car I wanted as soon as she could, but it's been over a month and I haven't heard from her or the dealership since. Stay away from this place - in the words of "Dr. House", everybody there lies. In fact, stay away from Hyundai of Lincolnwood too - they're the sister dealership to Hyundai of Palatine and are not much better. More

The "leadership discount" it's a lie. DONT BELIEVE IT!!! Leaders in lying, cheating and stealing maybe. I called ahead and told them the SUV I wanted and the price range I wanted to be ar DONT BELIEVE IT!!! Leaders in lying, cheating and stealing maybe. I called ahead and told them the SUV I wanted and the price range I wanted to be around, they said if I had excellent credit that they could make that work. I have excellent credit and they still made the payments about 25$ more a month than we agreed upon. Also, when I showed up, they told me that the car I wanted I couldn't get because there was a stop sale on it and they were going to give me the same care but different vin, (on cars.com where I looked, they were all different prices due to different accessories. I also called about this leadership to find out why they can take $5,000 off of a new car and they lied and told me it was because they sell so many cars. (There's no law in Illinois that prevents them from false advertising). I was texting with the salesperson all day setting stuff up and making sure everything was good to surprise my fiancé. So, we get there after my fiancé gets off work and there's 3 hours before they close, and we left after they closed for no reason.... it was the end of the month, the sale/deals were about to expire "of course", and we drove an hour to go get this new car. We go to do the paperwork as the store is closing and they tell me I have to pay $2000 for low jack, which no one told me about and they gave me $250 less than what was appraised at a Hyundai dealer closer to me. I let them pressure me into the buy because I just wanted to get out of there, I was so frustrated. After it was all said and done my payments are about $100 more than we agreed upon over the phone and they had all these things they did to make up that $5000 discount they offered online. I was also told I didn't qualify for all of the discount even though there were no criteria online to show you what the criteria is to be eligible for the "leadership discount". They extended the payments to 84 months instead of 72 to make the numbers look better. They also didn't give us the military discount or the student discount which we talked about over the phone. I will never go here again, worst experience I have ever had while car buying. I knew I should have left but I needed a new car as the heater wasn't working in it and its winter along with the other things that were going wrong with the car that I could not personally fix. I felt bamboozled and the stars aligned just right for them. More

My experience with Palatine Hyundai is one that I want to make everyone aware of. Late July my wife and I went into order a new Tuscon hybrid and worked with Michelle. The beginning process was very easy and make everyone aware of. Late July my wife and I went into order a new Tuscon hybrid and worked with Michelle. The beginning process was very easy and the dealer was accommodating. We received a call on August 31st that the car was in and we could come in a pick it up. We arrived around 6:45 pm and started the process of purchasing the car. My wife took the car on the test drive and upon returning we began to discuss pricing. Mind you we put in an order for the car and had a price that was consistent with the online building the car software. When were handed an invoice that included Lojack, their exterior and interior protection plan, and 3M plastic door covers. I stated that we ordered the car and we did not want any of the additional add-ons and was told that that was how the car was going to be sold. Michelle continued to fight with me on the additions but told us that she fought to remove the $5,000 market adjustment that the dealer had placed on their vehicles. After going back and forth, we were told that if we didn’t agree they had a list of people they could give the car that we ordered too. Unfortunately, we needed the car and caved. After we finalized the pricing and were back with the finance manager signing everything one of the service managers walked in and told us that we couldn’t take the car that evening because they had not done their “final inspection” on the vehicle, meaning they had not do all the stuff that they charged additionally for. We had been at the dealer for over 4 hours at this point and left. I received a call the following day that the car was ready for pick and when I arrived the car had over 100 miles more than the contract stated. I was given the excuse that they must have typed the mileage in wrong and it wasn’t a big deal due to the fact that the mileage was over the stated total and not under. The following day I received a call from Mark Howard asking him to call me back. I waited a few days to respond as it was a long weekend. When I called Mark back, he had asked when I could bring the car back to get the dent fixed, he stated that Michelle told him about the dent and we were NEVER made aware of the dent during or purchase nor was the car put in position where we could see the entire vehicle in the light. I brought the car to get a dentless fix two weeks later on a Wednesday. I was called on Thursday with the news that the car would have to go into the body shop and have work done and be painted. Mark stated that “the car won’t look as good as the first paint that Hyundai put on but they would still be willing to fix the dent.” I was told I would have the car back in two days. It took over a week to get back and when I got it back there was an awful paint job and a pain drip had dried onto the car. They took the car back and had to fix their paint job. During this entire experience I was told that I would be getting a survey sent so I could share my thoughts and feelings. I asked who they sent the email too and I was told that it was my wife’s, we constantly checked and checked and received nothing. When I reached out to Mark about it he told me the email address and they did not type it in correctly and there was nothing else they could do to get us the survey because they forgot one number in the email address. I finally got the car back and with the dent fixed two weeks after and I explained everything to Mark and my experience he went to go get the General Manager to discuss this with me. He was out that day and I was told he would call me the following day, Saturday 10/7. I got a text from Mark on Saturday that the GM was out still but he would for sure call me on Monday. I still have not heard anything three weeks later. I will never go back to that dealer and I would highly recommend anyone else to avoid Palatine Hyundai due to our experience, they claim they car about customer service but that is all a lie. More
Stay away from this place. Bad experience with both their dealerships. Their customer service team seems to think that by ignoring problems or letting the 6'4 service manager Bad experience with both their dealerships. Their customer service team seems to think that by ignoring problems or letting the 6'4 service manager physically intimidate you you'll go away. They need to watch their Ps and Qs because they do not know customer service at all. CS is easy when there are no problems. But when there are - they lose their minds. They only stand by the problem because that's HYUNDAI'S dictate, but the dealership themselves, needs to go back to customer service school and so does the service manager who really had no business poking his head in above the customer service manager and usurping his position! What does that say about that person?! Why do you have a customer service manager if you just push him out of the way? Because that's the way this place does business. Watch out and stay away. Pretty sad, because the mechanics seem to know their business. More
