The worst service department I have ever seen with even worse management. This place is so bad that we are now trading our perfectly good Hyundai Santa Fe in for a Toyota because of how bad their service d worse management. They also tried to literally steal my car and would not give it back forcing me to hire an attorney and send them a demand letter forcing them to give it back. When they did, they did almost nothing they said they would do and damaged my Genesis after keeping my car for almost 3 months. The entire time we had Ashley McGhee calling us telling us that our parts were in and wanted to know when we were brining our car in for the work, despite the fact it had been there for almost 3 months. Their service manager literally tried to fight me and told me to never come back to their dealership knowing we have two Hyundais in our household. Now we’re going to Toyota and Lexus respectively for new cars, all because of their service department. They’re down right criminal there. More

When Rick Hendrick owned this dealership, customer service was a priority, but ever since he sold it years ago, service has steadily declined. Last week was the worst. This past week I took my Santa Fe in for service on Monday because the A/C was blowing hot air. The Service Advisor, Percy White, informed me that even though the part may be covered by warranty, I would have to pay $344.99 for the “evac and recharge” (basically refilling the freon). I said that doesn’t make sense – that is part of the process of changing a warranty part. He said he would have the technician look at it and get back to me. Since I had an appointment which had taken me almost a week to get, I thought I would have an answer in a few hours. Instead, it was Tuesday morning, at which time he advised it would instead be $499.00. I said I still disagreed with any charge, but what happened to $344.99. He said that was just an estimate off the top of his head – this was the correct amount. Luckily, I know some people in the car industry, and with some phone calls to the right people, Percy called back at the end of the day to apologize that he was fairly new and didn’t realize that the recharge would be included in the warranty repair. I asked when the car would be done, and he said the part would be end of day on Wednesday. At the end of day, I called and he responded by text that it would be end of day Thursday. I called back, but could neither get him on the phone or reply to texts. Thursday morning I called and he just said the part came in late, so it would be end of day Thursday. Late afternoon I called for an update. All I received was a text that said he gave the technician the day to work (meaning he put him on other cars), so it would be end of day Friday. I called several times to see what was going on. I called the Service Manager, Aaron, twice. No one got back to me. I finally spoke to Hyundai USA and asked them to intervene. They assured me they would do everything they could to make sure it was done on Friday. Friday morning I called Percy, and again, no response. Finally, Hyundai USA called to say it would be ready by end of day, and Percy then texted to say I could pick-up the car. It appears, if you want to get anything done, you need to contact Hyundai USA and complain, and they will make it happen. The Service People at Hyundai of Charleston just don’t care – and especially not Percy White. Funny update, he texted me today - a week after I brought the car in - to see if I was satisfied with the service I received. Not at all! More

Bought a 2024 Palisade last week and one of the easiest transactions ever for a new car. The turn signal stalk was not working properly. Brought my car in for 24000 mile checkup and was greeted by Percy White. He followed the service all the way through and kept me aware of things that needed to be done.
