The salesman thought he could start the power by using the key. Wrong. A week later I gave them a second chance. The second time I visited, after making an appointment and specifically asking for the car to be hooked up to a power source, things were worse. Upon arrival the "concierge" took my name and summoned any salesperson. The "concierge" had little knowledge of the car as he was still in "training", and the car still had no power. A salesperson never showed up. After 20 minutes of waiting, I left. I never saw the person with whom I had made the appointment. It was a total waste of my time. The dealership facility is ordinary at best. The men's restroom had water covering the sink and the trash container was overflowing. Is this an indicator of how they will treat your vehicle? If Hyundai expects Genesis to compete with Lexus, BMW and Mercedes, this dealership is a very poor representative of the brand. Compared to my experiences at those dealerships, Genesis is sorely lacking. Too bad, as the vehicle looked impressive. I think Napleton Genesis of Hazelwood should be very low on your list if you want to purchase an $80K vehicle. More
I am giving two stars because at first the service department seemed very helpful, informative and friendly. However, after what seems to be a very big mistake (based on how long they have held my car department seemed very helpful, informative and friendly. However, after what seems to be a very big mistake (based on how long they have held my car), this has changed. To keep this short - The dealership managed to shear off a bolt head when replacing my water pump and thermostat.... no big deal, as long as they pay to fix it which they are. However, their customer service and education, professionalism, and sense of urgency seem to have plummeted when they made this mistake. I wont go into the sheer amount of force it would take to snap off a bolt head, just how they have handled the situation since. I drove in in a 2018 G80. When needing a rental for the 2 day fix after their mistake, they made me feel like that was an unreasonable request. They did end up providing a Sonic which is many levels below my car which seems odd being I'm pretty sure genesis requires them to put me in a comparable car. There has been a total lack of communication, having to call many times a day for an update. This should have been a half day fix which has now turned into a week, and when I get a "for sure date" that is soon followed up with "I think". I get no sense of urgency from the staff there and was even told the issue they caused is not a priority of there's as they have other cars coming in. This seems odd to continue to overbook your staff when you haven't even completed the projects you have already committed yourself to. I get a sense of hostility when I become inquisitive on the process and required repairs which seems undeserved being I am simply trying to understand how if they are working on the car all day as they say they are, it is taking many days to simply bore out, and re-insert the required bolt which they have had for 2 days now (had to be ordered). I am not sure what I expect from the dealership to remedy this, because I most certainly will never be returning..... not because of the mistake, as these things happen, but the service and conspiring that appear to be happening to hide their mistake.
