We had an engine that seized up and had the car towed to Fort Myers Hyundai and were pleased to find out that we were eligible to for a new engine under a recall. Came in with odor in car and non-working fan. Told the check in service person that AC working because feet cold even after driving in heat with windows open but fan not working and terrible odor Told the check in service person that AC working because feet cold even after driving in heat with windows open but fan not working and terrible odor. Told $200 charge to do assessment. Agreed to it. Then told $1500 to repair-- mouse died. Agreed to it. Then told work would be completed that day; then received a second call-- about 1 1/2 hours later that part needrd to be ordered and will take 4 business days. 5 business days later told part arrived; then called that work completed but still a slight odor so wanted to keep overnight. Next day day told need another part (blower motor resister) because fan not working-- additional $600. When I questioned why the resister wasn't checked during assessment was told "we stop checking when we find the problem." Declined additional work--said I would come in to pick up; told I could not because car on lift and not available. I could provide more detail but this should be sufficient to make clear why the service department is not credible or reliable-- so left my car for service because fan did not work and odor. Car returned and fan doesn't work and car still has odor. As the overwhelming odor of fragrance has dissipated the original ofor is wafting in the car. A friend asked why I paid the bill-- I have no idea; gullible I guess. Only positive? Woman who arranges loaner vehicles is a credit to the organization-- polite, efficient... More
