I noticed after my last visit to Thompson that again there was new paint damage to my vehicle after picking it up. It looks like a tool was scraped across the edge of the hood, possibly something that the hood was closed on. So I took my vehicle to another dealership for diagnosis. I was able to get in within 48 hours and within 2 hours of having my vehicle they had a diagnosis. As I suspected, there is a backorder on parts so I will be waiting for the part to come in for the first repair in order to diagnose the additional & possibly related issues. There was no reason for Thompson to keep me waiting they could have performed diagnosis at either of the service visits when my vehicle was at their shop & the fact that they know a number of parts are hard to get at this time makes the delay even more inexcusable. The second dealership also validated my body complaints, stating that either Thompson or Hyundai themselves must address them because they are clearly visible defects in material or manufacturing that the manufacturer or seller is responsible for. Furthermore, earlier this week my wife ,who ALSO purchased her car at Thompson came home with a nail in her tire. She called Thompson as her wheel & tire coverage states she must first contact the selling dealership. I advised her this would be a waste of time, that they would tell her they were "two weeks out" (the excuse that had been repeatedly used with me). What do you know, she called & they told her exactly that. It would be two weeks before they could get her in for a simple tire change. The advisor told her they had vehicles "lined up out the door". I happened to be standing across the street working at another local dealership when she made that call & there were no cars in the service lane at Thompson. Thompson has made no effort to reach out to me to correct any of these issues. I have been contacted Hyundai Corporate since filing my claim & my information has been submitted to them.
