obvious compliance techniques 1. The salesman was knowledgeable about the car and helped set everything up for me. The test drive and the review of the car went well. I enjoyed wor 1. I enjoyed working with both the sales associate and the finance person. They were both very professional. After I bought the car, the delivery, orientation and handover went well. Anything negative I have to say reflects on the dealership and not the sale associate or the finance person. 2. Overall, I thought the skills and methods used in selling or promoting the IONIQ and the warranty and service products were obvious compliance techniques. My perception is that everyone was following a protocol that the Sale Department had them follow. For example, - the sales associate had to check twice with his manager, both times were for about 20 minutes - despite a TruCar email I showed from another area dealer, the manager was unable to match the same discount. I receive about half the discount. We came very close to just leaving. - the finance person spent a lot of time selling me on what seemed to be overpriced extended warranty and service packages 3. What I found off-putting is that the sales associate repeatedly asked me to give him a perfect score on this survey. He seemed less interested in earning the perfect score than in getting me to comply with his requests to enter the perfect score. The transparent goal is to make you think the purpose of this Hyundai survey is to help the dealership achieve some metric. I came away thinking the sale associate was following protocol. For example, - I was shown an example of how to fill out the survey to give a perfect score - It was explained to me that anything negative should be entered as a comment - I was called to ask for a perfect score by the end of the quarter After I left the dealership I felt like our transaction was concluded, but it was not a good experience. I will probably never go back to Hyundai of Chantilly. I will search for another place to service my car. If I do consider another Hyundai, I will go to another dealership where I will feel more comfortable and confident in the organization. I definitely will not recommend that anyone buy a car from Hyundai of Chantilly. It is very difficult to trust an outfit that seems to be trying to influence you by using compliance techniques. More
