Absolute worst experience buying a car - don't even consider I have purchased many cars. I have never experienced anything like this. After speaking with my lender, they have never heard of anything like this I have purchased many cars. I have never experienced anything like this. After speaking with my lender, they have never heard of anything like this: Was pre-approved for car loan via my lender Brought that paperwork in to HOA Purchased a car Two days later my lender sends email to saying sorry for not approving your loan - here are the reasons. I call lender - "uh, I have the car in my possession" lender is surprised that I have car as loan wasn't approved and can't believe HOA hasn't called me to return car. I call HOA and tell them I am not approved - the Finance Guy, Rick, clearly dropped the ball and begins arguing with me that yes it is financed. I tell him go ahead and call my lender. He calls lender confirms I indeed was not approved. He then tells me I will not get my downpayment back - even though I never should have provided downpayment/driven the car off the lot through no fault of my own. So we go round and round as he tries to bully me into getting alternative financing at a greater interest rate and greater monthly payment which I'm not comfortable with. At which point he gets pretty verbally aggressive. I tell the dealership this is not my property, it's not insured, I get that I'm being screwed out of my downpayment (unbelievable) but that someone needs to pick up the car. Someone comes to pick up the car. I think matter is settled. I send an email confirming they picked up the car, telling them they are not authorized to contact anyone on behalf, including my employer and financing corps as RICK has threatened to do so. I go out to dinner that evening. I get a text from RICK "I got you financing, just like I said I would. So left car where it was picked up. It's between you and the lender now! Congratulations. Obviously the congrats was sarcastic. So....they drove an uninsured car, left it unlocked in an apartment complex parking lot unlocked with the keys on the front seat - at night!! I call lender, tell them what happened - they want no part of this deal after hearing this and assure me they won;t fund the loan. So...I have a male friend (yep, I'm female) help me return the car - at the dealership they will not take keys - I have to lay them on the table. RICK tells me I signed the paperwork (for the deal that wasn't approved by lender) so he could run my credit to anyone and as many people as he wanted (effectively damaging my Credit Score). He also says "no one ever returns a car here." Which pretty much speaks to their level of customer care they DGAF. tl;dr Hyundai of Asheville sucks. More
Love my new vehicle The selection of vehicles to choose from was impressive and I was overjoyed that an SUV was within my price range, a new one at that. I was supposed to hear from Will this week... Nope... Less.than.imoressed. I brought my car to the dealership for expertise in diagnosing ac problem. I got a $400 bill unreosired car and some excuses without phonecall until I contacted corporate .. Nuff said ? Lol More
Sales Person Derek Bernard I recently purchased my Toyota Highlander from Mr. Derek Bernard and could not have asked for more courtesy and professionalism. He was very patience I recently purchased my Toyota Highlander from Mr. Derek Bernard and could not have asked for more courtesy and professionalism. He was very patience and helped explain the process and went out of his way to set in the car and explain everything , which is a rare this day and time to fine a sales person that willing to go the extra mile for the customer. Mr. Bernard even went so far as to detailed himself what I felt had been missed. We all know customer service is a rarity this day and time. I would highly recommend Mr. Bernard for his friendliness and knowledge if you are looking for some one to ease you to a great buying experience. More
Don't believe their web site. Don't believe what you see on their web site. Last Friday web site said they had eight 2019 Elantra's in stock. Also most of their cars had "internet discount" between $4-5000. I told the salesman I was looking for a 2019 Elantra or Accent. He brought up a 2020 for us to test drive. It wasn't until later he told me they had sold the last 2019 Elantra. Their web site today still show 8 in stock. I asked about the discount. I was told had to be military or first responder to qualify for discount. First the web site does not say that any where. Second he never asked me if I was one of these two. The sales man said they go strictly by Kelly Blue Book to value trade-ins. While he was checking with his manager to get me an offer I looked up my trade in on Kelly. Their offer was $2000 less than Kelly. When I pointed this out to them and asked why the difference they just shrugged. Finally they brought around a 2019 Elantra that was a "dealer car." Explained that even though it had 5000 miles on it never been titled so still considered new. I took on look at this car and it was so nasty I didn't even want to sit in it. My trade in is 4 years old and cleaner than this car. I felt totally insulted. More
Not your typical car buying experience Working with Derek was great. He was super helpful and very knowledgeable of the cars on his lot. We are overall happy with our new car and will work with or refer people to Derek in the future. More
