Careless tech & spare tires I have been dealing with Hyundai of Anderson for about 5 years and for the most part have had very good service experience, however in August I took m I have been dealing with Hyundai of Anderson for about 5 years and for the most part have had very good service experience, however in August I took my 2016 Sonata in for service when it appeared to be having shifting problems. It was evaluated on a Friday morning, and I was told there was an electrical problem in the computer system and they would need to order a part. As I left in their rental car, the service manager told me that they would continue to check the car out, that the part would be ordered, but probably would not arrive before the following Monday or Tuesday. He said once they replaced the part he would like to keep the car a day or 2 to drive it and make sure all was well. By the following Thursday I had heard nothing, so I called. I was told that the part had not come in but they would call me with updates. Because the license plate on the rental car they gave me had expired, they called me and asked me to bring the car back to get a new license plate. I did that on Friday before Labor Day. They told me then that the part had just come in that morning, and that they would try to get it on the car that day. He said I would probably be able to get the car back on Monday. When I reminded him that Monday was a holiday, he said probably on Tuesday. Finally on Wednesday morning they called to tell me I could pick up my car. I went in late that morning and drove the car from the dealership to Sam's Club on my way home. When I went to load my purchases in the trunk, I discovered a large "foreign object" on the floor of the trunk. I drove back to the dealership and asked the service manager to identify it for me. As it turned out, the technician who replaced the part on my car had put the shield from under the car in the trunk while he worked on the part. He completed the replacement but forgot to replace the shield. He came out and told me that as soon as he washed his hands he would put the shield back and "It will just take a second." 20 or 25 minutes later I finally was able to take my car. Had I not stopped to do some shopping, I would have had to drive back to Anderson from Due West (about 25 miles one way) to have that piece put back on the car! I did get apologies from both the technician and the service manager, but this seemed to me to be carelessness on the part of the technician. Also, I bought this car in July 2016, and since I had had no tire issues, did not discover until early August 2017 that there was no spare tire in the trunk! When I called the dealership to question this, I was told that Hyundai no longer put spare tires in this model! This to me is ridiculous! What if a woman driver or a man with physical problem gets caught on a less-traveled roadway with a flat? Not all of us can afford to join AAA or other road service agencies, and even if we could, not all of us have cell phones to call for help. In the area where I live there are areas where there is no cell phone service. Hyundai should be held responsible for incidents that could happen when there is not a spare in the car! More

Don't buy the warranty!!!! I bought an $1800 bumper to bumper warranty when I bought my car and was told it basically covered anything wrong with my car the first problem was s I bought an $1800 bumper to bumper warranty when I bought my car and was told it basically covered anything wrong with my car the first problem was something with my AC it cost $400 to fix so my warranty did not cover it. I had to call the sales manager to have it paid for. Next I had a nail in my tire and my warranty was supposed to cover that, I only take my car to get it serviced there and they wouldn't replace it bc I didn't have enough tread BUT they never told me what the tread had to be at. I also realized that there are different prices for oil changes and they have been charging me for the most expensive one and not asking which one I wanted. They won't get another dime outta me. More

I would go to another Hyundai dealership if it wasn't for the convenience of a couple miles from where I live. More

When we returned to utilize the plqn, we were told that it was not purchased, and we were not covered, even while paying for the service. After a heated discussion, Cynthia Owens, showing great poise and professionalism, remedied the problem in a very satisfying manner. I will sing the praises of this dealership, most importantly Mrs. Owens, to anyone that will listen. I am thoroughly satisfied with the resolution, and will be a return customer to Hyundai of Anderson! More
